Wednesday Preview: Fast and Firm at Both Florida Tracks

Thoroughbred racing resumes in Florida on Wednesday with ten races at Gulfstream Park and ten races at Tampa Bay Downs.

First post is 12:25 p.m. at Tampa Bay and 12:35 p.m. at Gulfstream.

At Gulfstream there is a Super Hi-5 carryover of $8,289 on the first race.

Conditions are fast and firm at each track, and for each the Weather Channel forecast is for a zero percent chance of rain during racing hours

We will have coverage on this blog.

Tampa Bay has nine claiming races plus a third race that is a $22,500 maiden special weight at one mile and 40 yards on dirt for 3-year-old fillies.

At Gulfstream there will be a new pool on the Rainbow 6, on races five through ten.  On Monday, there was just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.  It took down the full carryover/jackpot of $72,179.

The feature ninth race is a $36,000 allowance at 1 1/16 miles on turf for 4-year-olds and up.
