Sunday's Gulfstream Racing; Saturday's Results

 

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race program planned for Sunday's race day. No stakes races are planned.

The 5th through 10th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:40 PM. The carryover there is $267,129 after that wager paid out $2,521.22 Saturday to only 40 bettors.

 

The winning program numbers were: 1-7-5-3-4/6-1/10. The Rainbow 6 field was 54 horses, and the pool totaled $178,970.

Long odds winner Its Nora Now, at 11:1 won the 6th race, which included the Rainbow 6 but not the Late Pick 5. That latter bet paid just $277.75.

The Late Pick 4 paid $90.95.

The Super High 5 bet paid the best win of the day in race 6 with $11,566 handed out to a single winner. The Super High 5 wager is $1 minimum and is offered on all races with 7 or more starters leaving the gate.

Saturday's Gulfstream Racing; Friday's Results

 Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card Saturday, April 29th.

First post is at 12:40 PM, while last call to the gate is near 5:35 PM.

The 6th through 11th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 3:10 PM. There’s a $224,189 Rainbow 6 carryover on the day.

In Friday’s racing action, 8 winners of the Rainbow 6 collected $6,241 each on the 20-cent bet. Two favorites won on the day, both in the last 6 races. Forty-nine horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races.

The Rainbow 6 program winners were: 6-1/7-1/3-3-5-6.

The Super High 5 also has a carryover Saturday of $12,771, after no one solved that bet in the last 2 races Friday. The Super High 5 is to be run in the first race with 7 or more starters. The track ‘take-out’ is 18% on this wager.

Total all-sources track handle was $5.54 million Friday, along with a $307,000 purse size.

Gulfstream's Friday Racing; Thursday's Results

 

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race program Friday. First post is at 12:40 PM.

No stakes races are on the Friday card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:08 PM. The carryover there is $202,791. The weather report shows a 25-70% chance of rain during racing hours Friday, with 15 mph winds.

In Thursday's action, three favorites won on the day. Six winners collected on the Rainbow 6 payout; $5,186.92 each.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 4-5-6-4/5-2-9The best payouts we saw were the Early Pick 4 and  Pick 5 paying $2,599.35 and $7,014.35 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.79 million Thursday with purse money totalling $279,000.

Gulfstream races Thursday through Sunday in the Royal Palm meet at the Hallandale Beach, Fla. track with 12:40 PM Post Times except some Holiday and Stakes variations.

No stakes races are on the card. The 3rd through 8th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:38 PM. There's a $189,453 Rainbow 6 carryover on the day, with a $275,000 gross pool guarantee if one winner emerges.

In last Sunday's racing action, 7 winners of the Rainbow 6 collected $8,290.64 each on the 20-cent combination-bet. Two favorites won in the last 6 races. Fifty horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races, with Dominate Themoment the long-odds winner on the day at 10:1 in race 5.

We honored our former Editor Jim Freer at Sunday's racing. His close friends gathered at the track for food, drink and racing action. Jim's race was race 5 in which two horses did not finish; one losing it's jockey! Jim would have loved that drama in his reporting.

The Rainbow 6 program winners were: 5-4-2-8-6/9/13-11.

Total all-sources track handle was $6.44 million Sunday, along with a $313,000 purse size.

Gulfstream's Sunday Racing; 12:40 PM Post

 Gulfstream Park has a 10-race program planned for Sunday's race day. No stakes races are planned.

The 5th through 10th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:40 PM. The carryover there is $164,581 carryover after that wager paid out a kingly $20,879.62 Saturday to only 3 bettors.

The winning program numbers were: 1-1-7-7-2-6. The Rainbow 6 field was 56 horses, and the pool totaled $111,881.

Two longer-odds winners in races 8 and nine upset the bettors' chances. Get the Candy, 17:1, and Nature Boy, 13:1.

The Late Pick 4 paid $4,044.35 and the Late Pick 5 paid $20,178.96.

The Super High 5 bet also has a $2,467 carryover Sunday to be run in the first race with 7 or more starters.

In Friday's racing action, 17 winners of the Rainbow 6 collected $2,177.54 each on the 20-cent bet. Two favorites won on the day, just 1 in the last 6 races. Fifty horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races.

In Thursday's action, just one favorite won on the day, race 4. Seven winners collected on the Rainbow 6 payout; $3,620.76 each. 

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 3-3-7-5-2-3. The biggest payout we saw all day was the early Pick 5 at $11,916. The Late Pick 4 and Late Pick 5 paid $387.75 and $2,199.85 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.56 million Thursday.

No stakes races are on the card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:10 PM. There's a $110,264 Rainbow 6 carryover on the day. It'll be race day #6 since the last Jackpot payout April 7th.

In Sunday's racing action, about 45 winners of the Rainbow 6 collected $975.06 each on the 20-cent bet. Four favorites won in the last 6 races. Just 43 horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races. Olga at 12:1 was the long-odds win in race 7.

The program winners were: 5-7-5/6/8-6-1/5-2/6/9/10.

The late Pick 4 and 5 paid $179.50 and $778.50 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $4.90 million Wednesday, along with a $322,000 purse size.

Celebration of Life Sunday at Gulfstream Park

 Former Horse Racing FLA editor Jim Freer's Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, April 23rd at Gulfstream Park in Hallandale Beach, Florida. The event time will be 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM in the Director’s Room Suite.

There will be food and drinks; and even a FEATURE RACE OF THE DAY named for Dear Jim. We encourage you to stop by to share with Jim’s friends and colleagues. Stop by anytime 1-6 pm.

Sunday's Gulfstream Racing; Saturday's Results


Gulfstream Park has a 9-race program planned for Sunday's race day. No stakes races are planned.

The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:05 PM. The carryover there is $91,250 after that wager paid out $652.28 Saturday to approximately 70 bettors.

The winning program numbers were: 1-2/4-1/2/3/4/5/8/11-8-2-2. It was the 4th day in the Rainbow 6 carryover that started April 7th. The Rainbow 6 field was 41 horses, and the pool totaled $91,250

 The six horses scratched in the 8th race watered down the Late Pick 4, 5 and 6, as all wagers with those posts were granted the win. The Late Pick 4 paid $1,335.85 and the Late Pick 5 paid $2,952.10. All four turf races were moved to the All-Weather track Saturday.

Evie Does It at 8:1 was the long-odds favorite in race 11, winning by 1-1/4 lengths.

The Super High 5 bet also has a $2,952 carryover Sunday to be run in the first race with 7 or more starters.

Gulfstream Resumes Live Racing Saturday; 11 Races

Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card Saturday, April 15th.

Gulfstream did not hold live racing the past two days due to the heavy rains over South Florida.

No stakes races are on the card. The 6th through 11th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 3:10 PM. There's a $71,472 Rainbow 6 carryover on the day, with a $100,000 gross pool guarantee if one winner emerges.

In last Sunday's racing action, 27 winners of the Rainbow 6 collected $3,373.52 each on the 20-cent bet. Three favorites won in the last 6 races. Fifty horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races, with Dancingwithdaffodis the long-odds winner on the day at 18:1 in race 7.

The Rainbow 6 program winners were: 8-6-3-3/9-4-5.

The only big payoff we saw was the Super High 5 in race 9 yielding $5,918.40.
The Super High 5 also has a carryover Thursday of $8,378.

Total all-sources track handle was $8.41 million Sunday, along with a $345,000 purse size.

Friday's Live Racing at Gulfstream Park Cancelled

 

Gulfstream Park annouced earlier Thursday that Friday’s live racing will be cancelled due to the continued rains and flooding to give the horsemen, connections and employees time to tend to their families and property.

Thursday's Gulfstream Racing Cancelled due to Rain

 Gulfstream Park's Thursday racing schedule has been SCRATCHED due to heavy rains both Wednesday and
overnight Thursday.



Over 20 inches of rain fell in Broward County and Dade County to some extent, closing many City operations, Schools and
the Fort Lauderdale International Airport.

We'll post an update tonight on the Friday racing schedule and other race details.

Sunday's Gulfstream Racing; Saturday's Results

 

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race program planned for Sunday's race day. No stakes races are planned.

The 5th through 10th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:35 PM. The carryover there is $31,365 after that wager paid out $3,739.96 Saturday to approximately 12 bettors.

The winning program numbers were: 4/7-4-7-3/4-6/7-5. It was the 2nd day in the Rainbow 6 carryover. The Rainbow 6 field was 45 horses, and the pool totaled $78,416; low for a Saturday, but expected with the smallish $12,548 carryover coming into the race day.

Cupid's Dart at 29:1 was the long-odds favorite in race 5. Races 6-11 comprised the Rainbow 6, with three favorites winning the last 6 races.

Devil's Only Friend
ended the day in race 11 winning at 21:1 by 1-3/4 lengths. The favorite finished 7th. That win upped the ante for the late exotic wager payouts no doubt. The Super High 5 bet also has a $2,456 carryover Sunday to be run in the first race with 7 or more starters.

Eighty-Two horses ran Saturday. The Late Pick 4 and Pick 5 bets paid $870.35 and $3,825.70 respectively.

Saturday's Gulfstream Racing; 12:40 PM Post Time

 Gulfstream Park has a 11-race card Saturday. First post is near 12:40 pm.

No stakes races are shown on the schedule.

In Friday's racing, about 105 bettors cashed in for a smallish $272.50 each on the Rainbow 6. Three favorites won in the rainbow 6, with the high-odds winner 5:1 in race 5.

Gulfstream set a $50,000 Rainbow 6 guarantee gross pool if the wagering is less than that (carryover + wagers) for Saturday.


With no single winner, the Saturday carryover will be $12,548.

Forty-seven entries left the gate in the last 6 races. The winning program numbers were 5-6-3-4/5-3-3.

The noticeable big payoffs Friday were the Super High 5 paying $9,282.80 in race 4, and $9,690.20 in race 6. The late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid $37.75 and $216.50 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $5.73 million Friday, along with a $271,000 purse size.

No stakes races are on the Friday card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:10 PM. The carryover there is $0. That's due to a jackpot win in Thursday's racing. The single winner was paid $42,893.78. 

 That made for back-to-back jackpot wins on the Rainbow 6 wager. Last Sunday's mandatory payout (see prior post) paid out $8,187.14 to 694 winners. The last back-to-back without a mandatory payout was Nov. 4-5 last year.

In Thursday's action, three favorites won in the Rainbow 6 races, the high odds being races 4 and 5 at 13:1 when Haruki won by a head, and Extraction Will won by 1 length.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 5-3-9-2/7-2-4. The Late Pick 4 and Late Pick 5 paid $397.20 and $9,097.20 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $5.47 million Thursday.

This is the start of the Summer meet at Gulfstream; termed the Royal Palm Meet with live racing Thursday through Sunday at the Hallandale Beach, Fla. track. This meet ends August 27th.

No stakes races are on the Thursday card. The 3rd through 8th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:38 PM. There are no carryovers, since the Rainbow 6 Jackpot was paid out last Sunday. About 700 winners collected $8,187.14 each in the Rainbow 6. The wagering was $5.91 million on this bet - and 3 winners were favorites. $5.91 million would buy 29.55 million combination bets at $0.20 each. To cover every combination for all 56 runners would cost you $115,200.

56 horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races.

The program winners were: 4-5-2-5/9-4/13-3/7/9.

The late Pick 4 and 5 paid $236.50 and $758.00 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $17.92 million Sunday, along with a $587,000 purse size.

Sunday; Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout; 12:40 Gulfstream Racing Post Time

 

Gulfstream Park has an 11-race program planned for Sunday's race day.

The 6th through 11th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 3:14 PM. The carryover there is $955,873 after that wager paid out $365.12 Saturday to approximately 1,150 bettors. The winning program numbers were: 4-3-3-1/2-4/6/7-1. The Rainbow 6 field was 58 horses, on a betting pool of $182,212.

Four favorites won in the last 6 races, and 9 on the Florida Derby day's 14 races. The long odds winner on the day was Clapton at 21:1 in the GhostZapper Stakes in race 7. There were 16 scratches from the race card Saturday.

One Hundred-Twenty Five horses ran Saturday, attracting a betting pool of $38.05 million. That was $740,000 higher that 2022's race, but the lowest wagering since 2017's Florida Derby which drew $30.61 million.
