Saturday's Gulfstream Racing; 12:50 First Post

Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card Saturday, July 1st. It's the first day of the tracks fiscal year, which will run until June 30th, 2024.

First post is at 12:50 PM in Hallandale Beach, Fla. Last gate call is around 6:00 PM.
There is one stakes race, the Smile Sprint Stakes with a 5:30 PM post time. It's a $100,000 purse race on the dirt for 3 y/olds at 6 furlongs. Dean Delivers is the 2:1  morning line favorite in the 10th race.

 

The Rainbow 6 wagers plus the Sunday carryover was paid out Friday, as Gulfstream announced last weekend a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 on June 30th. The betting totalled $1.45 million and the payout was $3,061.66 per winning ticket. The total number of winners was not available at press time Friday evening. 

The winning program numbers were: 5-2-7-1-3/4/6/7/8-1 for the Rainbow 6. Four scratched horses in the 7th race helped a bit. The Saturday wagering should decline for the Rainbow 6 as the carryover resets to zero.

Total all-sources track handle was $6.55 million Friday.

Gulfstream Friday Racing; Tampa Bay Downs' Summer Festival


Gulfstream Park has an 8-race program Friday with a 12:50 PM post time. It's the last day of Gulfstream's fiscal year.

 That date dictates that all carryover wagers must be paid out to 'clear-the-decks,' for the 2023-2024 racing year that begins July 1st.

 The only carryover Friday is the Rainbow 6, with a $149,053 carryover from last Sunday's racing. Approximately 200 winners collected $229.76 Sunday on the Rainbow wager. No winner posted a worse odds than 5:1 then. Three favorites won on the day, two in the last 6 races. The longshot winner was Midnight Chaos in race 5 at 4.8:1.

60 runners entered the gates Sunday, 41 in the last 6 races.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 5-6-7-2-6-2/4.

Total all-sources track handle was $4.41 million Sunday. The purse money totaled $292,000 under rainy-fast conditions.

Tampa Bay Downs, across the swamp in Oldsmar, Fla. will race Friday and Saturday at their annual Summer Festival of Racing. They offer 8 races each day with 11:30 a.m. post times. Gulfstream's Sunday; $129,000 Rainbow 6 Carryover

Gulfstream Park plans a 9-race card Sunday.

First post is at 12:50 PM, with no stakes races planned. The Rainbow 6 starts in race #4 at approximately 2:24 PM. The carryover there is $129,024.

Saturday's Rainbow 6 paid out $4,308.14 to 16 winners.

The winning Rainbow 6 program numbers were: 7-3-6-10-6-3.

Lightning Tones won the Carry Back Stakes race by a nose after trailing 6th in the stretch. The long-shot 28:1 paid $58.40 on the $2 wager in the field of 7.

All sources track handle registered $6.67 million Saturday.

Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card Saturday, June 24th.

First post is at 12:50 PM in Hallandale Beach, Fla. Last call to the gate: 5:57 PM.
There is one stakes race, the Carry Back, with a 4:25 PM post time. It's a $75,000 purse race on the dirt for 3 y/olds at 7 furlongs. Swirvin is 5:2 and Super Chow is 9:5 in the morning line odds in the 7 horse field.

In Friday's race action, 64 starters left the gate with Tearduc being the long-odds (9.4:1) win on the day. Interesting finish here in race 4. It was the fillies first career start, winning by one length. Tearduc also led the race at every call, gate-to-wire, earning $45,000 for the win. There oughta be an award for that performance! Kentucky Derby (2022) winner Sonny Leon was in the saddle. Congratulations!  


The Rainbow 6 wager carries over from Friday where about 30 bettors collected $1,174.60 each. Saturday's Rainbow 6 races start in race 6 at approximately 3:22 PM. There's a $99,482 carryover on the day. Gulfstream also announced a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 on June 30th. We'll handicap that next week.

Four favorites won Friday, three in the last 6 races. The winning program numbers were: 6-4-5-6-3/5-4 for the Rainbow 6.

Total all-sources track handle was $4.04 million Friday, along with a $297,000 purse size.

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race program planned Friday with a 12:50PM post time. Last post is near 5:00 PM in race 9. No stakes races are on the Friday card.

This will be race day #7 in the carryover series for the Rainbow 6, since that wager paid out the jackpot of $263,655.92 on June 4th.

The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:20 PM. The carryover Friday will be $84,622 with a $125,000 gross pool guarantee if one winner takes the jackpot.

In last Sunday’s action, three favorites won on the day, two in the last 6 races. The longshot winner was Domo Arigatou in race 5 at 32. The Rainbow 6 paid out $4,640.94 to 7 winners.

70 runners entered the gates Sunday, 46 in the last 6 races.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 7-9-4/5-7-2-5.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.95 million Sunday. The purse money totaled $250,000 under cloudy-fast conditions.

Sunday Racing at Gulfstream Park

Gulfstream Park has an 9-race card Sunday.

First post is at 12:50 PM, with no stakes races planned. The Rainbow 6 starts in race #4 at approximately 2:22 PM. The carryover there is $70,699.


Saturday's Game Face Stakes was won by a neck by Flakes at 2:1 in race 11.

The multiple race bets paid poorly most of the day. The exception being the Early Pick 5, which
handed out $47,961 to 4 winners. The program numbers there were 10-7-5/7-4-1.

About 90 winners cashed the Rainbow 6 payoff of $499.90 each.

The winning Rainbow 6 program numbers were: 2-2/5-3-6-7-8.

All sources track handle registered $7.57 million Saturday.

There is one stakes race, the Game Face Stakes. 

It's a 75,000 purse for 3 year-old fillies, to be run on the dirt track at 6 furlongs. The morning line favorite is Charlies Wish at 9:5. The race is slated as #11 at about a 5:50 PM Post Time.

The Rainbow 6 wager carries over from Friday where about 80 bettors collected $370.34 each. Saturday's Rainbow 6 races start in race 7 at approximately 3:50 PM. There's a $50,928 carryover on the day.

Two favorites won Friday, both in the last 6 races. The winning program numbers were: 2/3/4-3-8-9-9-6 for the Rainbow 6.

Total all-sources track handle was $4.67 million Friday, along with a $360,000 purse size.

In last Sunday's action, six favorites won on the day, four in the last 6 races. The longshot winner was Principia in race 9 at 46:1. It was the fillies first win in 14 starts, collecting $30,700 purse money.

82 runners entered the gates Sunday, 48 in the last 6 races.

There are two stakes races. Both are $75,000 purse runs on the All-weather track at 1-1/16 miles. The Martha Washington is race 4, while the Not Surprising is race 10. Both have 8 starters listed as of Friday night.

The Rainbow 6 wager carries over from Friday where 53 bettors collected $379.52 each. Saturday's Rainbow 6 races start in race 7 at approximately 3:50 PM. There's a $8,662 carryover on the day.

Five favorites won Friday, three in the last 6 races. The winning program numbers were: 4-1/2/7-5-1-1-8 for the Rainbow 6.

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race program Friday with a 1:05 PM post time. That’s 15 minutes later than the prior meet races. Last post is near 5:20 PM in race 9. No stakes races are on the Friday card.

This will be race day #1 in the carryover series for the Rainbow 6, since that wager paid out the jackpot of $263,655.92 in last Sunday’s racing. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:35 PM. The Super High 5 wager has a $6,881 carryover in race #1 most likely with 10 horses entered. That wager is available in every race that enters 7 or more horses. It’s a $1 minimum wager.

In last Sunday’s action, five favorites won on the day, three in the last 6 races. The longshot winner was Amor Lejano in race 8 at 33:1. That’s Distant Love in English!

79 runners entered the gates Sunday, 45 in the last 6 races.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 5/7-6-4/6-6-2-3.

Total all-sources track handle was $5.12 million Sunday. The purse money totaled $303,000 under cloudy-fast conditions.

Sunday's Gulfstream Racing; 2 Carryovers

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race card Sunday.

First post is at 12:50 PM, with no stakes races planned. The Rainbow 6 will get started at approximately 2:50 PM in race #5 with a $189,767 carryover.

Saturday, three 10:1 odds winners in the last 4 races made handicapping difficult for the late races. Five favorites won on the day, but they were in the first 6 races. 

In Saturday's racing at Gulfstream, 24 winners cashed the Rainbow 6 payoff of $2,236.36 each. Four favorites won in the last 6 races, but 45:1 odds Truth and Honesty won the last race, no doubt culling down the winners list considerably.

The winning Rainbow 6 program numbers were: 3-6-6/7/9-1-5/6-12.

The Super High 5 has a $2,810 carryover Sunday also.

All sources track handle registered $6.41 million Saturday, $98,834 of that bet on the Rainbow 6.

Saturday at Gulfstream; 11 Races, 2 Carryovers

Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card Saturday, June 3rd.

First post is at 12:50 PM in Hallandale Beach, Fla.
There are no stakes races, but two carryovers on the day.

The 6th through 11th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 3:24 PM. There's a $166,055 carryover on the day and a $200,000 gross pool guarantee by Gulfstream.

In Friday's racing action, 11 winners of the Rainbow 6 collected $2,595.32 each on the 20-cent bet. Just a single favorite won on the day, in race 6. Forty-five horses competed in the Rainbow 6 races. That wager paid out on 5 of 6 correct wagers.

Fast Fixer was the long-odds win at 34:1 in the last race (#8), which led to a nice Late Pick 5 payout of $11,442.35.

The Rainbow 6 program winner positions were: 4-8-2-1-3-1.

The Super High 5 also has a carryover Saturday of $2,821 after no one solved that bet in the last race Friday. The Super High 5 is to be run in the first race with 7 or more starters. The track 'take-out' is 18% on this wager.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.39 million Friday, along with a $231,000 purse size.

Gulfstream Park has an 8-race program Friday with a 12:50 PM post time. No stakes races are on the Friday card. This will be race day #10 in the carryover series for the Rainbow 6, which started May 14th. The 3rd through 8th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:50 PM. The carryover there is $153,820. Gulfstream is setting a $200,000 guaranteed gross pool if one winner hits the Rainbow wager.

In last Sunday's action, four favorites won on the day, three in the last 6 races. About 108 winners collected on the Rainbow 6 payout of $496.98 each.

69 runners entered the gates Sunday, 48 in the last 6 races.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 3-3/5-5-5-5-9. The long-shot of the card was Greek Mojo at 6.5:1 in the last race winning by one-length.

Total all-sources track handle was $5.11 million Sunday. The purse money totaled $336,000 under clear skies.
