GPW Rainbow 6: $890,459, Added, Low Odds Winners in Early Races

Bettors poured $890,459 into the Rainbow 6 on Saturday at the Gulfstream Park West meet, which is run at Calder in Miami Gardens, Fla.

That betting was part of the wagering to start the fourth race.

Hard West (1) at 8-5 won the fourth race. Aycapote (1) at 2-1 won the fifth race, which was the second leg of the Rainbow 6. Friendly Fella (2) at 3-1 won the sixth race. Front Loaded (4) at  6-1 won the seventh race.

It is a mandatory payout day - in which meet sponsor Gulfstream Park will divide 80 percent of the day's Rainbow 6 bet (20 percent takeout) and the entire coming-in carryover of $111,271 among all tickets with the six Rainbow 6  winners.

Those tickets will divide about $835,000.

Gulfstream had projected that the Rainbow 6 pool would be in the $500,000 range.  And with rain forcing a move of the two turf races (fifth and seventh) in the Rainbow 6 to the Sloppy dirt track, that number seemed optimistic to some at the start of Saturday's races.

But fan around the country, a large number betting through ADW  accounts, once again showed their interest  in Gulfstream-sponsored races.

No spectators are allowed at Calder. Betting at Gulfstream is on a limited basis, in the north tent area and on some days by invitation in he Silks simulcast area.

No Turf Racing at GP West on Mandatory 6 Payout Saturday

Because of this morning's rain, all four scheduled-for-turf races have been moved to the dirt, listed as Sloppy, today (Saturday) at the Gulfstream Park West meet.

Those are the first, third, fifth and seventh races.

The Rainbow 6, with a mandatory payout, starts on the fourth race with scheduled post of 1:34 p.m.

Th GP West meet is sponsored by Gulfstream Park, and is run at Calder in Miami Gardens.

The carryover, which will all be paid out, is $111,271.

Gulfstream had projected that as much as $500,000 would be bet on the Rainbow 6 today. That total could be smaller because of wet conditions, surface changes and scratches.

This link to the Equibase Web site has today's GP West entries with scratches and other changes.  There are ckick-ons to obtain handicapping material--some free ad some at cost.

We will have coverage on this blog.

GP West Saturday: Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payout; Pool Starts Out With $111,271 Carryover

By Jim Freer and Barry Unterbrink

The Gulfstream Park West meet n Saturday will have a mandatory payout on its Rainbow 6--regardless of the number of tickets with all six winning horses.

The pool will get started with a carryover of $111,271, which is eight race  days old.

Based on GP West wagering history it is likely that a carryover of that size will help generate $500,000 or more in Rainbow 6 bets.

GP West's nine-race Saturday card will have first post of 12:00 p.m. The meet is sponsored by Gulfstream Park and is run at Calder in Miami Gardens.

How the Bet Works

The Rainbow 6 will be on races four to nine with the sequence scheduled to start at 1:34 p.m. It is a 20-cents per combination-only bet, with multiple horses allowed in each race and thus multiple combinations.

For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has sixty-four horses and costs $12.80.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot consists of the entire coming-in carryover plus 80  percent of the day's new Rainbow 6 bets (20 percent takeout).

Gulfstream usually pays out the jackpot only if there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

On a mandatory payout day, the jackpot is divided among all tickets with six winners.

On non-mandatory days (such as Friday) when there are multiple tickets with all six winners, Gulfstream takes out 20 percent  of the new bet. It then divides 56 percent among winning tickets and adds 24 percent to the carryover.

Friday Results

Friday was the eighth straight day with  multiple Rainbow 6 winning tickets--thus growing the carryover each day.

On Friday, there were 25 Rainbow 6 tickets with all six winners.  Each won $1,797.10 on a 20 cent bet.

A key point to remember on the Rainbow  is:

If you have one of the multiple winning Rainbow tickets on a day without a mandatory payout. , you win your share of 56 percent of the day's bet but none of the carryover.

If you have one of the multiple winning tickets on a mandatory payout  day, you are part of a bigger pie and you win your share of 80 percent of the day's bet and your share of the entire carryover.

*On Saturday morning, we will post a story on handicapping the Rainbow, including  a video in which Gulfstream analysts Jason Blewitt and Ron Nicoletti make their selections.

Watching and Wagering

The GP West meet is closed to spectators and does not have any live betting on site.

At its track in Hallandale Beach, Gulfstream has its north tent area open on GP West race days for simulcast betting on those races and on other tracks that are part of its regular simulcast menu.

Details can be found on Gulfstream's Web sitehttps://www.gulfstreampark.com/ or by calling the track at  (954) 454-7000.

Betting on Gulfstream West races may be done on most Advance Deposit Wagering (ADW) Internet and phone services. Many sports books, race tracks and OTB offices have simulcasting on GP West races.

Tampa Bay Downs, Hialeah Park and Pompano Park are among Florida pari-mutuels that carry the GP West simulcast schedule.

GP West: Mandatory Rainbow 6 Payoff Saturday; Fast and Firm for Friday's Card

On Saturday, the Gulfstream Park West meet will have a mandatory jackpot payout on its Rainbow 6 bet.

There is a prospect that the pool could be in the  $500,000 range or higher if the jackpot is not taken down by a  single ticket on Friday.

The GP West Friday card has eight races with first post of 12:00 p.m. The GP West meet is sponsored by Gulfstream Park and run at Calder in Miami Gardens, Fla.

The Friday card  has a Rainbow 6 carryover of $92,016. The 20-cents per combination-only  bet is on races three to eight, with the sequence set to start at 1:04 p.m.

The dirt track is listed as Fast and the turf is listed as Firm. The first, third, fifth and eighth races are scheduled for turf.  The Weather Channel forecast is for the chance of rain to increase from 15 percent to eighty percent during the course of racing hours.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot consists of the entire coming in carryover plus 80  percent of the day's new Rainbow 6 bets (20 percent takeout).

Gulfstream usually pays out the jackpot only if there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

On a mandatory payout day, the jackpot is divided among all tickets with six winners.

Ona non-mandatory days when there are multiple winning tickets, Gulfstream takes out 20 percent  of the new bet. It then divides 56 percent among winning tickets and adds 24 percent to the carryover.

Assuming that $100,000 is bet on the Rainbow 6 on Friday, the carryover will grow by 24 percent--and be in the $115,000 range on Saturday.

That size carryover usually attracts $500,000 or more in bets on a mandatory payoff day.

We will have reports on GP West this afternoon on this blog.

At the  Gulfstream Park West meet, three of Wednesday's five scheduled-for-turf races have been moved to the dirt track that is listed as Fast.

First post is12:00 p.m. for Wednesday's nine-race card at Calder in Miami Gardens, Fla.

Wednesday is the 18th day of the 40-day GP West meet.

Thus far, there have been thirteen days on which meet sponsor Gulfstream Park has taken one or more races off the turf because of rain and/or lingering wet conditions.

Through Sunday. 45 of the  67 scheduled-for-turf races have been taken off that surface.

In all of last year's  40-day GP West meet there were only  eight days on which one or more races were taken off the turf.

That meet had 168 scheduled-for turf races, with 26 coming off that surface.

On Wednesday, the Rainbow 6 has a carryover $59,224.  The 20 cents per combination-only bet is on races four-to-nine with the sequence set to start at 2:34 p.m.

Gulfstream is guaranteeing that the Rainbow 6 jackpot/carryover will be at least $125,00 0 if thee is just one ticket with all six winners.

We will have coverage of today's GP West racing on this blog.

Gladys, a Full Sister to Rachel Alexandra, Breaks Her Maiden in Slop at GP West .

Gladys, a 2-year-old full sister to 2009 Horse of the Year Rachel Alexandra, broke her maiden on Sunday at the Gulfstream Park West meet with an 11-1 upset victory in a mile maiden special weight event carded as Race 5.

The daughter of Medaglia d’Oro and of the mare Lotta Kim roared from off the pace to score a three-length victory in her second career start and first race around two turns.

Gladys encountered trouble leaving the starting gate and was never a factor as she finished eighth in her Sept. 18 debut at six furlongs at  Gulfstream Park.

Gladys, who is trained by Kelsey Danner, ran a mile over a sloppy track at Calder in 1:38.80 under jockey Angel Arroyo. She beat Almost Heavenly by three lengths.

Gladys, who is owned by Dede McGehee and was was bred in Kentucky by her Heaven Trees Farm, is Lotta Kim’s eighth foal of racing age.

Of course, Rachel Alexandra, who captured the 2009 Preakness (G1), Haskell (G1) and Woodward (G1) on her way to being crowned Thoroughbred racing’s champion of 2009, is by far the most accomplished offspring of Lotta Kim.

Medaglia d'Oro also was a multiple  Grade 1 winner, including the 2004 Donn Handicap at Gulfstream.

Lopez led jockeys in wins last year at the GP West meet, which is held at Calder in Miami Gardens, Fla.

He has returned from Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J., where he led jockeys in victories last year and this year.

Wednesday will be the 13th day of the GP West meet. which will have 40 days and extend until Nov. 28.

Lopez led GP West jockey s with 38 wins in last year's 40-day meet.

Edgard Zayas leads this meet's jockey standings with 19 wins. Emisael Jaramillo is second with 14, followed by Miguel Vasquez with 11 and Samy Camacho with ten.

The Monmouth Park meet closed on Sept. 24. Lopez is getting s late start at GP West because he spent part of this month riding at a Meadowlands-sponsored meet at Monmouth Park.

Bodexpress Wins GP West Feature in Near Record for 1 1`/16 Miles

By Jim Freer

You might coin the word "homestaying" for Bodexpress's win in Saturday's feature race on the Calder track at the Gulfstream Park West meet.

Bodexpress led at  every call and pulled away to beat Identifier by 11 1/4 lengths in near track record time in the 1 1/16 mile dirt race.

The race was a $62,500 optional claimer with  a $44,000 purse. None of the six entrants were in for a tag.

Trainer and part-owner Gustavo Delgado Sr. used the race to prep the 4-year-old Bodexpress for upcoming  stakes races. He is best known for finishing second to Maximum Security in the 2019 Florida Derby (Grade 1) at Gulfstream Park.

Near-Record Time

With Emisael Jaramillo riding, Bodexpress won in 1:42.53 on the track listed as Fast--just off the track record 1:42,52 that Mr. Jordan set in wining the Millions Classic Preview on Nov. 12, 2016.

Bodexpress is stabled with Delgado, and he trains on the Calder track when he isn't traveling around the country to race in graded stakes.

But the 4-year-old son of Bodemeister has raced only three times at Calder/GP  West--winning all three.

Those were Bodexpress's only wins in 16 career starts. He also has four second place finishes and three third place finishes.

Delgado's GDS Stable owns Bodexpress in a partnership with Top Racing LLC and Global  Thoroughbed LLC.

Rematch

Identifier, Saturday's race  was a rematch of the Hal's Hope (Grade 3)  at 1 1/8 miles on dirt at Gulfstream on March  28.

Identifier, at 60-1, won the Hals' Hope by one length over Just Whistle and another half length  over Bodexpress.

Bodexpress faced several challengers in the Hal's Hope before seeming to take command early in the stretch.  But he was run down by Identifier and Just Whistle, who was not in Saturday's race.

This time, Bodexpress pulled away in the stretch and Jaramillo had him in hand while nearing the finish line.

Glory of Florida finished third, 2 3/4 lengths behind Identifier. Bodexpress was the 2-5 favorite.  Identifier was sent out at 5-1 and Glory of Florida was 21-1.

The 3-2 exacta paid $9.60 for $2 and trhe 3-2-5 trifecta paid $39.60 for $2.

Anxious Moments

Bodexpress has provided some anxious moments for his connections while away from Gulfstream Park West while also showing flashes of unfulfilled potential.

Bodexpress finished second as a maiden behind Maximum Security in the 2019 Florida Derby (G1) at Gulfstream to earn a start in the 2019 Kentucky Derby (Grade 1). He finished 14th after a rough journey.

In the Preakness (Grade 1), he unseated jockey John Velazquez when he reared in the starting gate and led the outriders on a merry chase during the race.

Delgado said he will point Bodexpress to stakes races during Gulfstream's 2020-2021 championship meet, including the $3 million Pegasus World Cup  (Grade 1) on Jan. 23. The Clark (Grade 1) at Churchill Downs on Nov. 27 also is a possibility, Delgado Sr. said.

"We'll keep him happy and healthy. He'll win one of the big ones," said assistant trainer Gustavo Delgado Jr.

GPW Rainbow 6 Starts With Win By 7-1 Shot

Takedown (2) at 7-1 won Saturday' fifth race at Gulfstream Park West to start the Rainbow 6.

The carryover coming in was $143,323. Bettors added $117,968 to the pool.

Coming up is the ninth race feature.  It is an allowance at 1 1/16 miles on dirt for 3-YO and up. Bodexpress and Identifier head the six-horse field.  We will have a preview and coverage.

Rainbow 6 Coming Up at GP West

The fourth race is coming up at Gulfstream Park West/Calder.

As we reported earlier--races five, seven and ten have been moved from turf to the dirt track that is listed as Fast.

The Rainbow 6 starts on the fifth race, with scheduled post of 2:16 p.m. and still time to get in.  Due to scratches, there are  44 starters, a relatively small number that enhances your chances of hitting it.

The carryover is $143,323.  Gulfstream is guaranteeing that the jackpot pool will be at least $250,000 if there is just one ticket with all six winning horses. We expect that bettors will put $150,000 or more into the Rainbow  6, thus covering the guarantee if needed.

This is the 11th day of the GP West meet.  Two facts to note:
* This is the seventh day on which meet sponsor Gulfstream Park has taken at least one race off the  turf because of rain or other wet conditions.

*The Rainbow 6 has not been "taken down" by a single ticket winner. So on each day, the payoff has worked this way--20 percent takeout, 56 percent divided among tickets with six winners, 24 percent added to carryover.

If you ae handicapping today's Rainbow 6, we say stick with it and don't be afraid to stick in a few extra horses.

The pool is not "life changing." But if you have one or two double-digit horses come in, you could pick up a non-greedy $10,000 or more.

Consider what happened on Friday.

Betting on the Rainbow 6 was $59,637. There were 41starters. Three winners were favorites, and none of the others were higher than 9-1.

That suggests the possibility of a semi-chalky payoff.

But there were 22 winning tickets and each paid $1,550.74--not to be sneezed at.

 .

GP West Off the Turf for Saturday

Following overnight rain, the Gulfstream Park  West  meet has moved all five of Saturday's scheduled-for-turf races to the dirt track, which is listed as Fast.

Those races are the first, third, fifth, seventh and tenth.

First post is 12:00 p.m. for the ten-race card, which is run at Calder.

The Rainbow 6 has a $143,323 carryover. The 20 cents per combination-only bet is on races five to ten with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:16 p.m.

Gulfstream is guaranteeing that the Rainbow 6 will have a jackpot pool of at least $250,000 if there is just one ticket with  all six winning horses.

Bodexpress and Identifier head the field for the feature ninth race. It is 1 1/16 miles on dirt for 3-YO and up--an optional claiming race ($62,500) with a $44,000 purse. Both have hit the board in graded stakes.

Starting later this morning, we will have track conditions and scratches--followed by coverage during the afternoon.

The eighth and last race is coming up  at GP West and there are 54  live tickets.

.

GPW Late Pick 5 Starts Wit h Win By 3-1 Shot

Rough Entry (5), at 3-1, won the fourth race at GP West to start the Late Pick 5.

Bettors put $57,861 into the pool. There was no carryover coming in.

The sixth and eighth races have been taken off the turf and moved to the dirt track that is listed as Muddy.

Rain has held off during the race card at Calder. But skies are cloudy and the Weather Channel is forecasting rain chances of 65 percent or higher  starting around 3:00 p.m. This is the tenth day of the GP West meet, and the sixth on which  at least one race has been moved from turf to dirt because of rain or other wet conditions.

GPW Rainbow 6 Starts With Win by Favorite

Yes I Am Free (7), the 9-5 favorite, won Friday's third race at Gulfstream Park West to start the Rainbow 6.

Sarasota  County (4), finished second in the field of five horses in the race that was moved from turf to the dirt track listed as Muddy.

The Late Pick 5 is approaching and should go off a about 1:50.  There are only  33 runners total--and there is still time to get in.

The carryover coming into the Rainbow 6 was $129,021.  Bettors added $59,637 to the pool. Gulfstream has guaranteed that today's Rainbow 6 pool will be at least $200,000 if there is just one ticket with all six winners. If that happens, Gulfstream will need to put in about $10,000 of its own money.

Rainbow 6 Coming Up at GPW

The third race  is coming up at Gulfstream Park West, to start the Rainbow 6. The carryover is $129,021.

It is an allowance/OC for 3-YO and up at five furlongs on dirt. It was originally scheduled for turf.

The dirt is Muddy, following rain this morning.

Due to scratches, there are only 38 runners and this might be  a day to play.

GP West Off the Turf on Friday

At the Gulfstream Park West meet, all four of today's scheduled for turf races have been moved to the dirt track  that is listed as Muddy.

Those races are the first, third, sixth  and eighth for the meet, which is held at Calder.

El Sicario (2), at  10-1, won Thursday's first race at Gulfstream Park West, setting up the prospect of two big exotic payoffs.

There were no tickets with he correct order in the carried-over Super Hi-5. That carryover will be $3.965 on the second race.

The race was the opener of the Early Pick 5, on which there was no carryover.

Wagering on the Early  Pick 5 was $169,362.

If there is another double-digit odds winner, it would significantly reduce the number of tickets with all five winners.

The second race  is a $10,000 maiden claimer at one mile on dirt for3-YO and up.

Rainbow 6 Starts with DQ Win By Favorite

Robin Team Show (1), the 3-2 favorite, was declared the winner of Sunday's fourth  race at the Gulfstream Park West meet after Law of the Land (7) was disqualified for interference in the stretch.

The race was the start of the Rainbow 6.  Bettors added $91,555 to the Rainbow 6 pool.  The carryover coming in was $66,584.

Law of the Land, on the outside, crossed the finish line first by a half length over Robin Team Show.

However, Robin Team Show's rider Cristian Torres lodged an objection against Law of the Land's jockey Samy Camacho for a bumping incident in deep stretch.

The stewards posted an inquiry, and they determined that the incident likely cost Robyn Team Show the win.

The race was a maiden claimer for 3-YO and up.  It was scheduled for 1 1/16 miles on turf, but moved to that distance on dirt to help the course dry out.

Skies remain clear, and the sixth and eighth races remain on turf as scheduled.

Swiss Skydiver vs. Authentic Duel Revisited With Odes to Secretariat, 'Rachel,' I Am Woman

From the Pimlico Facebook page, here is a link to a replay of the stretch run in Saturday's thrilling Preakness (Grade 1)

https://www.facebook.com/Preakness/videos/33293791465883

Swiss Skydiver (4), the only filly in the race, is on the inside. The 3-2 favorite Authentic (9) is on the  outside.

If you are reading this, you no doubt know that Swiss Skydiver, at 11-1, won the stretch duel by a neck in the Triple Crown race at Pimlico in Baltimore

It is worth viewing the replay several times to appreciate the determination of Swiss Skydiver and Authentic (this year's Kentucky Derby winner).

Swiss Skydiver's Preakness victory was historic for several reasons.

*She won the 1 3/16 mile race in 1:53.28 on the track that was listed as Fast. That is the second fastest time ever in the Preakness--trailing only the legendary Secretariat who ran it in 1:53.00 in 1973.

*Her win was the first in the Preakness  for a filly since the great Rachel Alexandra in 2009. and only the sixth by a filly in the 145-year history of the Preakness.

Robby Albarado rode Swiss Skydiver for trainer Ken McPeek and owner Peter Callahan, a retired publishing industry executive who lives in Palm Beach County in Florida.

Graded Stakes Wins
Swiss Skydiver came into the Preakness with wins this year in four graded stakes, all restricted to 3-YO fillies, and a second place finish in the 1 1/8 mile Blue Grass Stakes (Grade 2) on July 11 at Keeneland in Lexington, Ky. She was the only filly in a 13-horse field.

That record gave Callahan a high level of optimism  about his horse in the Preakness.

On Friday, he told us "there could be a lot of speed" in the race.

He said he expected that McPeek would instruct Albarado to keep Swiss Skydiver several lengths behind the leaders early in the race, and then pick a spot to start challenging them.

Authentic, trained  by Bob Baffert, was among  horses that  Callahan and many other horsemen and fans thought would be among early pacesetters.

On Sept. 5, Authentic beat the favorite  Tiz  the Law by 1 1/4 lengths in the Kentucky Derby.

Tiz the Law, whose 2020 wins include the Grade I stakes Florida Derby and Belmont Stakes, did not run in the Kentucky Derby.  Trainer Barclay Tagg plans to race him next in the $6 million Breeders' Cup Classic,  at  1  1/4 miles at Keeneland in Lexington, Ky.

Authentic came into the Preakness with five wins in six career starts. Four of those wins were in graded stakes--in which he led at every call.

John Velazquez rode Authentic in the Kentucky Derby  and had the mount in the Preakness.

Authentic was the leader after a half mile in  47.65 seconds.

Swiss  Skydiver was in fifth place near the rail and three lengths behind Authentic.

Albarado then moved Swiss Skydiver off the rail She found an opening between horses and movcd into the lead after six furlongs in 1:11.34.

They continued to race in tandem with Swiss Skydiver leading by a half length after a mile in
1:34.74. They  ran the third quarter on a fast for that stage of 23.50 seconds.

The dominance of Swiss Skydiver and  Authentic was shown in the fact that third place finisher Jesus' Team, at 40-1, came in 9 1/4 lengths behind Swiss Skydiver.

Jesus' Team finished a head in front of Art Collector, the 2-1  second betting choice.  On July  11, Art Collector won the Blue Grass (Grade 2) at Keeneland. Max Player finished  fifth.

The $1 payoffs  were: 4-9 exacta $37.80; 4-9-6 trifecta $1,205.70; 4-9-6-3 superfecta $5,053.00; and 4-9-6-3-8 Super High 5 $64,812.60.

Callahan also had a good feeling about Swiss Skydiver in the Preakness for a reason that did not involve handicapping.

The race came four days after singer  Helen Reddy, who in the early 1970s popularized the classic I Am Woman, died of natural causes at age 78.

That timing left Callahan, his daughters and granddaughters wondering if it might be an omen for their horse.

"The song has meant a lot for women, and we're thinking 'wouldn't it be an irony and special for the memory of Helen Reddy if a filly wins
(Preakness),?'" he said.

Callahan spent last week visiting relatives in the New York City area.

They had planned to charter a plane and fly to Baltimore on Friday. But they cancelled the trip due to growing concerns about the COVID-19 pandemic.

Mainly because of COVID-19 restrictions   by tracks, even for owners, Callahan has only attended two of Swiss Skydiver's races this year.

"Our girl has done pretty well without our cheering section being there," he said.

Origin of Name
Callahan watched the Preakness with family members in Westchester County, New York.

His granddaughter Callie Rasnake, known as "the original Swiss Skydiver," was part of that group.

In the fall of 2018 Callahan was looking for a name for a year-old filly that McPeek had just bought for him for $35,000 at the Keeneland September sale.

He wanted a name that would have a connection to her sire Daredevil.

Callahan found it in a Sunday morning text with a photo from Rasnake, who was then a college student spending a semester in Europe.

The text said "Here I am, skydiving in the Swiss Alps."

It took just a couple of seconds for Callahan to decide -- "That's the name--Swiss Skydiver."

Buyers' interest in the chestnut horse that would be named Swiss Skydiver was relatively low because Daredevil was then unproven as a sire.

Daredevil won the one-mile Champagne Stakes (Grade 1) for 2-yearf-olds at Belmont Park in 2014. But he was retired from racing early the next year due to injury.

Daredevil's sire is the multi graded stakes winner More Than Ready.

Expo Gold, the dam of Daredevil, is a daughter of the muiltiple graded stakes winner Johannesburg.

McPeek liked the conformity of his purchase for Callahan, and told him he thought she would do her best once she got into two-turn races.

Swiss Skydiver has turned out to be a major bargain. The Preakness was her sixth win in eleven career starts, and raised her earnings to just under $1.8 million

That includes wins this year in the Gulfstream Park Oaks (Grade 2), Fantasy Stakes (Grade  3) at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Ark.,  Santa Anita Oaks (Grade 2) and Alabama (Grade 1) at Saratoga.

In her race  prior to the Preakness, Swiss Skydiver finished second by 1 1/2 lengths to Shedaresthedevil, another daughter of Daredevil,  in the 1 1/8 mile Kentucky Oaks (Grade 1) at Churchill Downs.  Shedaresthedevil set a stakes record of 1:48.28.

On Sunday Oct. 4, Shedaresthedevil finished third in the $400,000 Spinster Stakes at  1 1/8 mile on dirt for fillies and mares 3-YO and up  at Keeneland.

What's Next?
McPeek had considered  running Swiss Skydiver n the Spinster, which would have been her first race against older horses. Instead, he chose to put her in a race restricted to three-year-olds.

After the Preakness, McPeek said chances are strong that Swiss Skydiver's next race will be the $2 million Breeders' Cup Daistaff (Grade 1) at 11/8 miles.

He said he also will consider her for the Breeders' Cup Classic
