Gulfstream Park has a 9-race card Thursday. First post is 12:10 PM.

No stakes races are on the card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:40 PM. Gulfstream is setting a $600,000 guaranteed gross pool Thursday if the jackpot is hit.

In Wednesday's racing, 42 winners collected $1,733.16 each in the Rainbow 6, on a betting pool of $132,362. The wager paid on 5 of 6 as no bettor had all 6 winners correct. 6-5-8-2-6-6 were the program numbers.

No stakes races are on the Wednesday card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:38 PM. There's a $550,000 gross pool guaranteed for the Rainbow 6 if just one winner exists. The carryover without the guarantee is $403,863.

Two favorites won in the last 6 races, and the betting favorite finished no worse than 3rd in the 6 races. That fact, along with the  four "off-turf" races led to the large payout. But, the handicap wrecking-ball on the day was Celestial Gaze (48:1) winning the 6th race, the first leg on the Rainbow 6 wager. King Cab was the favorite there finishing third.

The most interesting win on the day was the Super High 5 in race 7 where one winner collected $54,617.

Sunday's 11 Race Gulfstream; Saturday's Results

Gulfstream Park has a 11-race card planned for Sunday's race day.

The 6th through 11th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:37 PM. The carryover there is $341,056 after that wager paid out a smallish $430.18 Saturday to approximately 330 bettors.

On Saturday, the $100,000 Ladie's Turf Sprint Stakes was won by One Identity (3:1) in race 7 by 1/2 length. The $125,000 purse Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint Stakes winner was Yes I Am Free (3.3:1), 1/2 length ahead of Carotari (1.4:1). Interestingly, five horses were scratched from this race, setting the field at just 5 runners. That's a rarity for a stakes race.

Four favorites won on the day, including one in the last 6 races. No winner in the Rainbow 6 races as a betting favorite finished worse than SHOW in the 6 races. That led to meager payouts on the exotic bets.

The late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid just $67.70 and $205.20 respectively. The best win we saw on the card Saturday was the Early Pick 5 that paid $41,835. Race 1 winner Adorian was a 42:1 shot in the $32,000 maiden claiming race on the turf. We estimate about 13 winners on that wager.

Total all-sources track handle was a whopping $15.02 million Saturday. Total purse on the day was $734,000.

Thanks for reading.
