Rainbow 6 Hit Saturday for $102,000 Payday; Sunday's Schedule

Gulfstream will run 8 races Sunday, with a 12:50 PM first post.

No stakes races are planned on the day. Last call to the gate near 4:10 pm.

In Saturday's racing, just 1 favorite won their race, #1, but three higher odds winners in the last 3 races were enough to ferret out a single Rainbow 6 winner for a $102,221 payday. The payout consisted of 80% of the days wagering plus the entire carryover from Friday of $55,155.

The Late pick 5 paid $14,753.10. No horses were scratched in the last 6 races, which increased the difficulty of the late race bets.

The winning program numbers for the last 6 races was: 1-6-6-3-4-10. The wagering pool has been lower the past few races, since the Rainbow 6 jackpot was paid out on August 19th, and the carryover was just surpassing $50,000 this past week.

So the Rainbow 6 starts Sunday with a $0 carryover and a post time of near 1:45 pm with race 3 starting the Rainbow 6.

Track handle was $4.18 million Saturday, with a $317,000 purse total.

Saturday's Gulfstream; 10 Races

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race card Saturday, Sept. 2nd.

First post is at 12:50 PM in Hallandale Beach, Fla. No turf races are planned. Races 2 and 5 are dirt, the rest are All-Weather track.

No stakes races are planned.

The Rainbow 6 wager is the sole carryover Saturday at $55,155, and will get underway with race #5 near 2:55 p.m.

On Friday, 6 of 6 paid $68.56 to about 300 winners. Five of the 8 races were won by favorites, and four were in the Rainbow 6 sequence. The other multiple race bets were all low payouts. The Super High 5 in race 5 paid $2,912, the highest win on the day. Eight horses were scratched Friday, 6 of them in the Rainbow 6 races.

The winning Rainbow 6 program #’s: 5/6-2/6-9-3-6-8.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.42 million Friday.

Sunshine Meet Opens at Gulfstream Park; 12:50 Post Time Friday

Gulfstream Park racing has an 8-race program Friday to start its live 3 day racing; with a 12:50 p.m. post time. Today is also the start of its Sunshine Meet, running about 12 weeks through Nov. 26th. For more detailed information on this meet, read Gulfstream Media's article here:

https://gulfstreampark.com/news/sunshine-meet-gets-under-way-friday-at-gulfstream-park/

The 3rd through 8th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:48 PM. The carryover Friday will be $46,080, with a $75,000 guaranteed pool if the wagering

does not reach that.

In the last live racing, August 27th, 6 favorites won on the day, 5 in the last 6 races. The longshot winner was just 3:1 in race 7. That, plus many scratched horses broke a multi-year record, in that the Rainbow 6 paid just $45.52 to around 600 winners.

55 runners entered the gates Sunday, with 36 entries in the Rainbow 6 sequence.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 2/4/6/7-1/2/7-1/3-6-5/7-8 where 6 of 6 collected.

Sunday's Gulfstream; 9 Races, Two Carryovers

Gulfstream will run 9 races Sunday, with a 12:50 PM first post.
No stakes races are planned on the day.

In Saturday's racing, Streaking Gray (7:1) and Mo Riss (5:1) won their respective races Saturday, but those odds were not enough to get decent payouts on the mutiple race wagers.
The Rainbow 6 paid just $413.96 to about 90 bettors, while late pick 4 and pick 5 paid a smallish $26.45 and $154.95 respectively. The early pick 5 garnered $490.65, the highest payout we saw on the day sans the Super High 5 payouts in some races. Four horses were scratched in the last 6 races, which hurt the payout even more.

The winning program numbers for the last 6 races were: 3-3-3/4/5-2/4-2/7-1.

So the Rainbow 6 starts Sunday with a $33,044 carryover.

The Super High 5 bet could garner attention Sunday, as the carryover there is $4,446, since no one had the winner in Saturday's last race.

Track handle was $4.70 million Saturday, with a $346,000 purse total.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.18 million Friday.

Friday's Gulfstream Horse Racing; 2 Carryovers

Gulfstream Park racing has an 8-race program Friday to start its live 3 day racing; with a 12:50 p.m. post time. Last post is near 4:15 PM. No stakes races are on the Friday card.

This will be race day #2 in the carryover series for the Rainbow 6, since that wager paid out the mandatory jackpot last Saturday. The 3rd through 8th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:48 PM. The carryover Friday will be $10,453.

In the last live racing, August 20th, 3 favorites won on the day, 2 in the last 6 races. The longshot winner was Free Smoke in race 6 at 15:1. The Rainbow 6 paid a nice $6,098 to 4 winners.

The winning program numbers on the last 6 races were: 7-2-7-5-3/4/7-6 where 6 of 6 were paid the Rainbow 6. The Super Hi 5 also offers a carryover of $4,962 Friday. It should be in race#1 with 8 starters listed. It's a $1 minimum wager handicapping the first 5 finishers in order. Grand Birdie is the M/L favorite at 2:1.

Sunday's Gulfstream; Saturday's Results

Gulfstream will run 9 races Sunday, with a 12:50 PM first post.
No stakes races are planned on the day.

In Saturday's racing, R Adios Jersey won the Sheer Drama stakes race by 6-1/2 lengths over Charlie's Wish. The winner paid $4.20 on a $2 wager. The Rainbow 6 wager attracted $1.8 million in new money, adding to the $338,000 carryover from Friday. The correct 6 winners on that wager paid $11,351 to around 150 bettors.

The early races were usual fare, except the Early Pick 5 paying a monster $55,580. The War Cross win in race 5 at 18:1 was the chief reason there.

So the Rainbow 6 starts Sunday back at ZERO on the carryover, set up for the next cycle of daily wagering.

The Super High 5 could garner attention Sunday, as the carryover there is $7,413 since no one had the winner in Saturday's last race.

The Super High 5 wager is taken in all races where 7 or more starters enter the gate. Sunday's first race has 12 starters listed in a $65,000 maiden special weight race. It's a $1 minimum wager.

Track handle was $7.48 million Saturday, which includes the $1.8 million Rainbow 6 wagering mentioned above.
