The current Sunshine Meet will wind down next weekend, and the Winter meet (Champion's Meet) will commence December 1st. Live racing will add Thursday's to the schedule, for a 4-day race week. The Winter meet is the most active, as many tracks ship horses to Gulfstream and Tampa Bay Down's for the colder-weather months. Tampa Bay's racing commences Nov. 22.

Race 7 kicks off the Rainbow 6 wager at about 2:55 PM with a carryover Saturday of $14,585. Gulfstream is placing a $50,000 gross pool guarantee on this wager if the betting does not reach that amount today.

On Friday, the rainbow wager paid $846.74 to about 16 winners.

Just 3 favorites won on the day, all in the last 6 races. The long-odds win was by Soy Una Dama in race 7 at 15:1.

With the ending of this meet, and the recent Jackpot payout of the Rainbow 6, expect the wagering to subside a bit. Gulfstream will announce a mandatory payout near the end of this meet, most likely on Saturday or Sunday, Nov. 25-26.

The winning Rainbow 6 program #'s Friday were: 2-8-1/3-2-2-1 (6 of 6 paid)

Total all-sources track handle was $2.97 million Friday.
