Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Carryover Nears $250,000

Gulfstream Park will resume racing on Thursday with ten races and first  post of 1:15 p.m.

The only carryover, of $245,975, is on the Rainbow 6. It is on races  five to ten, with the sequence scheduled to start at 3:16 p.m.

The Rainbow 6 is a 0-cent per combination only bet.

The carryover has grown because Gulfstream has gone nine straight race days without the jackpot  payoff requirement of just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

The jackpot consists of the entire carryover plus 80 percent of the day's new Rainbow 6 bets.

On days with multiple  winning Rainbow  6 tickets Gulfstream takes out 20 percent of the day's bet, divides  56 percent among the winning tickets  and adds 24 percent to the carryover.

Gulfstream's Saturday; 12 races, Carryovers

Gulfstream Park plans a 12 race schedule Saturday, with a first post listed as 12:45 PM.

One stakes race is planned in the 11th race; the Sea of Tranquility, a one mile dirt run for 3 y/o that have not won a sweepstakes.

The purse is $75,000 for the 5:54 PM post time. Vincero at 2:1 is the ML favorite in the 6 horse field.

On Friday, 73 starters chased $260,000 in purses over 10 races. Five favorites got the WIN, while the longest odds win was Glory of Florida in race 7 at 8:1. It was a State Bred 3 y/o race at a mile with a $47,000 purse and $12,500 claiming price.

All favorites were in the money on the last 6 races except Glory of Florida which reduced the late race payouts quite a bit.
The Late Pick 5 paid: $1,148.20

The Rainbow 6 wager paid $1,810.72 to 32 winning ticket holders. The Saturday carryover will be $157,509.

The Rainbow wager gets underway in race 7 at approx. 3:44 PM.

The Super Hi-5 wager carryover is listed at $1,792, most likely in race 1 unless there’s a scratch as 7 starters are listed on the race card, the minimum field size for this wager.

Good Luck.

Gulfstream's Friday Racing; 2:00 PM Post

Gulfstream Park plans a 10 race schedule Friday, with a first post listed as 2:00 PM.

No stakes races are planned, as is usual for the weekdays in summer meets. This will be day 12 of the Summer meet.

In Thursday’s racing, 71 starters ran 9 races on the firm course. Just two winners were listed as favorites at post time.
Three winners at 6:1 or higher in the last 5 races resulted in nice dollars for Pick 5 and Rainbow wagers.

The Late Pick 5 paid: $5,972.35
The Rainbow 6 wager paid $15,918 to 3 winning ticket holders.

There’s 49 entries listed for the Rainbow 6 Friday, so that could be cut to the mid-40’s with just a few scratches. Could this set up another payoff of size depending on the odds?

Bettors added $78,800 to the Rainbow 6 pool Thursday, and the carryover grew by $18,897 after Gulfstream paid out the winners from 56% of the pool, and pocketed their 20% takeout.

The Friday carryover is $132,718. The Rainbow wager gets underway in race 5 at approx. 4:00 PM.

The Super Hi-5 wager carryover is listed at $2,203, most likely in race 1 unless there’s a scratch in the 7 horse field.

Good Luck.

Late Pick 5: $15,690.60

The Rainbow 6 wager paid just $476.94. It paid that out to just 5 of 6 of the winning horse finishes.

The huge upset of the day was in race 8, where South Pass, 56:1 beat the favorite Drill Down Dude by 1-1/4 lengths in the 5 furlong dirt run. Gulfstream's July 4th Racing

Gulfstream Park will run 12 races on Independence Day, with a first post time of 12:45 PM.

Fireworks and music are planned after the races end – see prior post for those details. A couple of two-year-old races, along with one Stakes Race should make for some fun.

One Stakes race is planned in race 10, the Richard Henry Lee stakes: 3 y/o on turf at a long 1-1/2 miles.  Second Mate is the M/L favorite at 2:1. It’s a $60,000 purse.

The Races on Monday, the first day of the 2019-2020 fiscal year, saw 9 races run amid clear, firm conditions. Three favorites won their runs, while all favorites were “in-the-money”. 62 starters left the gates.

The popular Rainbow 6 wager resulted in a carryover for today of $12,365

With the pool reset after the Spring meet ended last Sunday, betting was low; just $51,623 on the Rainbow 6.

But the 23:1 winner in race 6 yielded some respectable payouts on the Late Pick 4 ($1,866), and Late Pick 5 ($3,251). There were about 23 winners for the Rainbow 6 Sunday.

Have a super Independence Day, stay safe !
