No stakes races are on the Friday card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:36 PM. The carryover there is $12,356.

Editors Barry Unterbrink and Jim Freer

It was an uneventful day Thursday. Seven favorites won, while the high-odds win was just 3.8:1 in race 8. Three races were taken off the turf and moved to the All-Weather track. Only race 4 saw the dirt track under the saddles.

Thirty winners cashed the Rainbow 6 wager for $969.40 each. Today's carryover there is $12,356. The winning positions were: 7-6-3-2/3/7/9/13/14/15-3-6/7/8. The dash (-) indicates the post position winner for that leg of the races (race 4 is listed first, position 7). The slash (/) indicates the additional winners of that leg due to scratches or change of track surface AFTER the wager was closed. Hope that helps readers understand this better. Other late wagers paid:

Late Pick 4: $149.65
Late Pick 5: $505.45
The Late Pick 5 attracted 4 times the money of the Rainbow 6; maybe a testament as to how hard it is to get that latter bet correct?

Total all-sources track handle was $4.43 million Thursday, along with a $348,000 purse size. We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Holiday Season!

Gulfstream's Thursday Racing; Rainbow 6 Jackpot Hit Wednsday!

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race card Thursday. First post is at 12:10 PM.
This is race day 36 in the Sunshine Meet that started October 2nd.

No stakes races are on the card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:40 PM.

The Rainbow 6 jackpot was hit on Wednesday for $358,032! It was day 17 of this wager's carryover. A single winner handicapped around THREE tough wins by 9:1, 11:1 and 36:1 odds winning horses.

Forty two runners entered the gates, the least since October 14th (41). Soul of an Angel, at 36:1 in the 8th race probably was the dagger for all but one bettor. The late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid huge also; $14,399 and $126,864. The high-odds mentioned were in the last 5 races, so that included the Pick 4 and 5 races. Just one betting favorite won on the day; race 4.

The current Sunshine meet will run through December 24th racing Wednesday's through Sundays with a few holiday exceptions.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.83 million Wednesday.

The carryover there is $284,552. The Super Hi-5 wager was not hit the last racing day, Sunday - in the last race, so that'll carry forward $5,308 to today's first race with 7 or more starters.

It was a low-odds day overall Sunday. Five favorites won in the 10 races, and the 7.5:1 win in race 5 was the high-odds. Four favorites won in the Rainbow 6 legs. The Rainbow 6 paid just $170.06 to about 480 winners.

Total all-sources track handle was $6.32 million Sunday, along with a $398,000 purse size. We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Christmas and Holiday Season!

The results included Juniper Marshmallow winning the Wait-a-While Stakes in race 8 by 1 length, and Ari Gold winning the Pulpit Stakes in race 4 by 2-1/2 lengths. Just two race favorites won on the day. The winning posts for the Rainbow 6 were 4-7-5-9-4/10-8.

Again, the Late Pick 4 and Late Pick 5 attracted more pool money than the Rainbow 6; with payouts of $654 and $2,129 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $8.65 million Saturday, the highest handle this meet that started early October. Perhaps the northern track bettors are finally arriving like the Florida snow-birds. Just 7 North-American tracks raced today, including Tampa Bay Downs and Gulfstream Park.

We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Holiday Season!

In last Wednesdy's racing, the Rainbow 6 paid $3,111.26 to 51 bettors. This wager paid on  6 of 6, as recent wins have been on 5 of 6 on this wager.

Gulfstream Park: Wednesday's Racing, Carryovers

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race card Wednesday. First post is at 12:10 PM.
Gulfstream is migrating to a 5 day race-week starting today. Post time is 12:10 P.M. Wednesday through Sunday. That complete story can be found here from the Gulfstream Park media office:  https://tinyurl.com/526puscd

No stakes races are on the Wednesday card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:35 PM. The carryover there is $135,464. The Super Hi-5 wager was not hit the last racing day, Sunday - in the last race, so that'll carry forward $1,515 to today's first race.

Three long-odds wins by 13:1, 48:1 and 20:1 horses were too much to handle for the bettors of the late races. For the lucky few, the Late Pick 4 paid $16,989 to 10 winners, the Late Pick 5 paid $98,909 to 3 winners and the Rainbow 6 paid on 5 of 6 $13,505.22 to 5 winners. The Pick 4 and Pick 5 wagers are attracting more money of late than the Rainbow 6. We think because of the lower takeout at 15% (vs. 20%) and the lower odds to hit the 4 or five horse wins. The Rainbow 6 has paid on 5 of 6 four of the past 8 racing days; a streak that we've not seen in our records at least back to 2015!

Total all-sources track handle was $7.30 million Sunday, along with a $465,000 purse size. We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Holiday Season!

10 Races Saturday at Gulfstream; 12:10 PM Post

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race card Saturday. First post is at 12:10 PM.
Gulfstream is migrating to a 5 day race-week starting Dec. 7th, next Wednesday. Post time is 12:10 P.M. Wednesday through Sunday. That complete story can be found here from the Gulfstream Park media office:  https://tinyurl.com/526puscd

No stakes races are on the Saturday card. The 5th through 10th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 2:10 PM. The carryover there is $85,236. The Super Hi-5 wager was not hit in Friday’s last race, so that’ll carry forward $4,321 to Saturday’s first race.

There is a $150,000 gross pool guarantee for the Rainbow 6 if a single winner exists Saturday.

The Late Pick 5 attracted over $500,000 Friday, adding to the carryover of $75,698. Why not wager when the carryover is someone else’s losing wagers? It paid $2,841 to about 150 winners.

Gulfstream moved their first two turf races to the Tapeta track, but did hit the turf in race 8, it’s first turf race since June.

Maria’s Honor was the 12:1 winner in the last race; the longshot in the last 6 races.

Total all-sources track handle was $4.82 million Friday, along with a $313,000 purse size. We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Holiday Season!

Friday's Gulfstream; 3 Carryovers, 12:10 PM Post

Gulfstream Park has a 9-race card Friday.

No stakes races are on the Friday card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:35 PM. The carryover there is $71,037.

The Super Hi-5 wager was not hit Thursday in the last race, so that'll carry forward $2,252 to Friday's first race.

Also, the Late Pick 5 was also not hit (quite rare), but paid $6,308.15 to 16 winners Thursday.
That'll carryover at $75,698. It was an off-turf day Thursday; ironic in that Gulfstream planned their first turf races since June! Showery conditions took the 3 races off-turf to the all-weather track.

Three long-odds wins by 12:1, 10:1 and 35:1 horses were too much to handle for the bettors of the late races. Summer Shandee at 35:1 won the last race in the 11 horse field.
The Late Pick 4 paid $30,380 to 3 winners, and the Rainbow 6 paid on 5 of 6 $9,390.46.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.93 million Thursday, along with a $316,000 purse size.

We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Holiday Season!

Forty-eight horses ran in the Rainbow 6 races. The Late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid nice sums of $2,450 and $7,450 respectively.

Saturday: 10 Gulfstream Races; 12:25 First Post

Gulfstream Park has a 10-race card Saturday. First post is at 12:25 PM.

No stakes races will be run. Seven races are slated for the all-weather Tapeta track and 3 for the dirt track (races 2,5,9).

The sole carryover is the Rainbow 6 wager, starting in race 5 at approximately 2:25 PM. The carryover there is $33,890. That bet paid $246.90 Friday to 82 winners. It was the lowest payout since the $140.10 paid on October 28th.

Three favorites won in the Rainbow 6 races and five on the entire days card. It stood out no post time favorite finished worse than 3rd in all races except the first.

That killed the payouts on the multiple race bets like the Pick 3,4,5 and Rainbow 6.

Forty-six horses ran in the Rainbow 6.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.39 million Friday, in line for recent Friday's.

Friday's purse size was $267,000 under clear and fast track conditions.

Good Luck wagering !

This is race day 23 in the Sunshine Meet that started October 2nd.

No stakes races are on the card. The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:53 PM. The carryover there is $25,186. The Super Hi-5 wager was not hit Sunday in the last race, so that'll carry forward $2,760 to Friday's first race.

In last Sunday's racing, the Rainbow 6 paid $492.10 to 51 bettors. Three horses were 6:1 or longer odds. Two other favorites won in races 6 and 7.

This wager was hit on 5 of 6, as no one ticket had the winning combination of 8-1/10/12-7-4-6-3. The 1/10/12 in race 6 was because of two scratches of posts 10 and 12 runners.

The late pick 4 and pick 5 wagers paid $885.20 and $2,188.65 respectively.

The current Sunshine meet will run through December 24th racing most Friday through Sundays with a few holiday exceptions.

Friday's Gulfstream Racing; 12:25 PM Post

Gulfstream Park Sunday; 9 Races, 12:25 PM Post

by HorseRacing FLA Staff
Gulfstream Park has an 9-race card Sunday. First post is at 12:25 PM.

No stakes races will be run.

The sole carryover is the Super High 5 wager at $1,374. The Rainbow 6 jackpot was hit Saturday for $83,117.28. Similar to Friday's wagers, the race favorite was 'in-the-money' for 5 of the Rainbow races; just race 11 (the last) was the favorite 5th. So the winner's odds for the last 6 races were: 1.3:1, 4.2:1, 1.9:1, 16.6:1, 12.2:1 and 12.9:1.

That was enough to ferret out a single winner. Fifty-four horses ran in the Rainbow 6 races. The Late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid nice sums of $4,185 and $39,801 respectively.

Total all-sources track handle was $6.05 million Saturday.
The purse size was $364,000 under cloudy and fast track conditions.

No stakes races will be run. Seven races are slated for the all-weather Tapeta track and 4 for the dirt track. Hurricane Nicole did not affect the track as that storm came ashore in Vero Beach, Fla., 130 miles North of Hallandale Beach.

The sole carryover is the Rainbow 6 wager, starting in race 6 at approximately 3:01 PM. The carryover there is $21,024. That bet paid $5,952.96 Friday to 4 winners.

Just one favorite won in the Rainbow races and three on the entire days card. It stood out that the favorites finished 2nd in 4 of the 6 rainbow 6 races, while the outlier was in Race 8 with Lovelorn Lady (8:1) beating Crystal Coast (23:1) by a neck. Tiz Enough came in 4th as the 2:1 favorite.

To have just 2 bettors hit this wager is kind of odd. A three horse wager in each of the 6 races would cost $194.40, while a four horse wager was $819.20. The Late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid $1,835 and $4,099 respectively. Nice returns on investment in any case.

Forty-eight horses ran in the Rainbow 6.

Total all-sources track handle was $3.46 million Friday.
Friday's purse size was $303,000 under cloudy and fast track conditions.
