Gulfstream Park plans an 9 race Sunday. First post is at 12:10 PM.
As usual for Sunday's no stakes races are planned.
The 4th through 9th races are the Rainbow 6 races, starting at approximately 1:40 PM. The carryover there is $53,898.
Yesterday's Rainbow 6 paid $3,116.68 to about 20 winners. Forty-five entered the gates for the last 6 races, while the high-odds winner on the day was ReadySeekGo in race 5 at 9:1, even though jockey Jose Morelos lost his whip near the 8th pole and had to 'glad hand' his horse to the finish line - OUCH!
In the two stakes races Saturday, Viburnum won the Via Borghese Stakes, race 6, and Value Engineering won the H. Allen Jerkens Handicap, race 9. All 5 turf races were moved to the All-Weather track due to rainy weather.
The Late Pick 4 and Pick 5 paid $622 and $2,354 respectively.
Total all-sources track handle was $7.71 million Saturday, along with a $622,000 purse size. We wish all our readers a safe and prosperous Holiday Season!
