GP West Off the Turf for Opening Day

Due to  heavy rain there will be no turf racing on today's opening day a the Gulfstream Park West meet at  Calder in Miami Gardens, Fla.

The five races that were scheduled for turf have been moved to the dirt track, which is listed as Muddy.  Those races are the first, third, fifth , seventh and ninth.

This link  to the Equibase Web site includes the scratches and other changes,  It has click-ons to handicapping material---some free and some at cost.

First post is 12:00 p.m. for a ten-race card, with no stakes races.

There will be a new pool on the Rainbow 6. That 20 cent per combination-only bet will be on races five to ten, with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:23 p.m.

The Weather Channel forecast is for a chance of thunderstorms as high as 55 percent during racing hours.

We will have coverage on this blog.
