Gulfstream Park will have a
carryover of $136,769 on its Rainbow 6 on Thursday.
First post is 12:35 p.m. for an 11-race
card.
On Wednesday, there were five
tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races. Each of those tickets
received $13,501.56 on a 20-cent bet.
The carryover going into Wednesday
was $107,873. Bettors added $120,856 to the Rainbow 6 pool.
Gulfstream pays out the Rainbow 6 jackpot (carryover
plus 80 percent of the day’s bet) only on days when there is just one ticket
with the winners of all six races.
Wednesday was the sixth straight day with multiple winning tickets, thus continuing the carryover.
On days with
multiple winning tickets Gulfstream takes out the 20 percent. It then divides
56 percent among tickets with the most winners (in Wednesday’s case six) and
puts 24 percent into the carryover.
The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per
combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in each race, thus setting up
a ticket with multiple 20 cent combinations. For example, a ticket
with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
