At 5:00 p.m. Eastern on Monday,
Gulfstream Park will draw post positions for this coming Saturday’s $12 million
Pegasus World Cup Invitational (Grade 1).
We will be monitoring the draw and
will have real-time reports on this blog.
The Pegasus purse is the world’s
largest ever for a horse race. The race will be 1 1/8 miles on dirt for
4-year-olds and up, with a 12-horse field.
Post time for the Pegasus will be
announced during the draw for posts.
Barring late changes in plans by
owners and trainers, the field will include Arrogate and California
Chrome.
It will be a much-anticipated
rematch from last Nov. 5, when Arrogate rallied to beat California Chrome by a
neck in the 1 ¼ mile Breeders’ Cup Classic (Grade 1), That race was at Santa
Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.
