On Friday, Gulfstream Park
will have a carryover of $40,266.79 on the Rainbow 6.
First Post is 12:35 p.m. for a ten-race
card. The Rainbow 6 is on races five through ten.
On Thursday, there were seven tickets
with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.
Each of those tickets received $5,424.76.
The carryover coming in was $23,992.
Bettors added $67,813 to the Rainbow 6 pool. The Rainbow 6 has a 20 percent takeout.
Gulfstream pays out the Rainbow 6 jackpot (carryover
plus 80 percent of the day’s bet) only on days when there is just one ticket
with the winners of all six races.
On days with multiple winning tickets it takes out the
20 percent. It then divides 56 percent among tickets with the most winners (in Thursday’s
case six) and puts 24 percent into the carryover.
Thursday was the third straight race day without a single-ticket
winner.
The
Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in
each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent
combinations. For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has
64 combinations and costs $12.80.
