Gulfstream Caryovers for Wednesday

Gulfstream Park will have a carryover of $339,873.99 on its Rainbow 6 when it resumes racing on Wednesday.

First post is 12:35 p.m. for a ten-race card.  The Rainbow 6 begins on the fifth race.

The first race will have a carryover of $7,734.24 on the Super Hi-5. It is a $1 minimum bet that requires picking the first five finishers in correct order, with no consolation payoffs.

There is a carryover because on Sunday there were no Super Hi-5 winners on any of the last three races that had seven or more starters and thus offered it.

On Sunday, there were 29 tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races. Each of those tickets received $2,713.28 on a 20-cent bet.

The carryover going into Wednesday was $306,710. Bettors added $138,208 to the Rainbow 6 pool.

Gulfstream pays out the Rainbow 6 jackpot (carryover plus 80 percent of the day’s bet) only on days when there is just one ticket with the winners of all six races.

Sunday was the tenth straight day when there were multiple tickets with all six winners, thus continuing the carryover.

On days with multiple winning tickets Gulfstream takes out the 20 percent. It then divides 56 percent among tickets with the most winners (in Sunday’s case six) and puts 24 percent into the carryover.

The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent combinations.  For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
