Heading into Wednesday’s card at Gulfstream Park, Paco
Lopez leads the championship meet jockey standings with eleven wins.
Luca Panici is second with eight victories through
seven race days.
Luis Saez is third with six victories, followed by
Emisael Jaramillo and Luis Saez who each have four wins.
John Velazquez, who thus far has ridden just two days
at Gulfstream, is among seven jockeys with three wins.
Three-time defending champion Javier Castellano has
ridden just two days at Gulfstream, and has two wins.
The 87-day meet will end April 2.
Owners
and Trainers
Veteran Milt Wolfson, based year-round in South
Florida, is tied for first in the owner standings and is third in wins among
trainers.
N. T. S. Stables, owned by Wolfson, has three wins in
three starts. It is tied with Ken and
Sarah Ramsey, who have led owners in wins at each of the last five Gulfstream
championship meets.
Todd Pletcher leads trainers in wins with six, and
Jorge Navarro is second with five.
Wolfson is third with four wins in seven starts.
Pletcher has led trainers in wins in each of the last
thirteen Gulfstream championship meets.
Pletcher had four wins last Saturday, all in stakes
races for two-year-olds.
