GP Rainbow 6 Carryover Passes $30,000

Gulfstream Park will have a rainbow 6 carryover of $31,089 on Thursday, the fourth day of its 2016-2017 championship meet.

First post is 12:35 p.m. for the ten-race card.  The Rainbow 6 is on races five through ten.

On Wednesday, there were four tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races. Each received $5,250.96 and Gulfstream added $9,002 to the carryover.

Gulfstream pays out the full Rainbow 6 jackpot (all of the carryover plus 80 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bet) only on days when there is just one ticket with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.

On other days, Gulfstream takes out 20 percent of the day’s Rainbow 6 bets and then divides 56 percent among tickets with the most winning horses (in Wednesday’s case six horses) and adds 24 percent to the carryover.

On Wednesday, the carryover coming in was $22,087. Bettors added $37,457 to the Rainbow 6 pool.

The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent combinations.  For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has 64 combinations and costs $12.80.
Ob Friday there were 57 starters in the Rainbow 6 sequenc. The winners’ odds were 4-5, 9-5, 2-1. 12-1. 10-1 and 9-1.
