Gerald Bennett comes back strong after having his six-race win streak broken yesterday with his first win for the day at Tampa Bay Downs.
Both of Bennett's entries Inaswagger and Roundupthelute beat his son Dale Bennett's entry, Media Time. His gelding Inaswagger , one of the favorites for this race took the lead, held on very gamely throughout, and coasted to a 1/2 length victory clocked in at 1:17.82. Leading jockey Daniel Centeno rode the winner and Edwin Gonzalez rode Bennett's other horse Roundupthelute whom finished second 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Media Time.
Media Time showed early potential battling against Inaswagger, but unfortunately weakened towards the end still finishing in third place by the neck.
The total WPS pool was $66, 293, and the charts are as follows:
