Gulfstream: Wednesday Card Has Ten Races

Gulfstream Park has a ten-race program on Wednesday with first post of 12:35 p.m.

The first race will have a carryover of $7,734.24 on the Super Hi-5.  It is a $1 minimum bet that requires picking the first five finishers in correct order, with no consolation payoffs.

There is a carryover of $339,873.99 on the Rainbow 6, beginning on the fifth race.

We will have reports on track conditions and other developments on our blog.

Gulfstream has racing on Wednesdays through Sundays. Unless otherwise noted, first post is 12:35 p.m. on Wednesdays through Fridays and 12:00 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays.

Saturday Stakes Races
On Wednesday afternoon Gulfstream  will announce entries for Saturday’s card, which will have five stakes races—all for three-year-olds.

The feature will be the $350,000 Holy Bull (Grade 3) at 1 1/16 miles on dirt for three-year-olds.  It is a point-scoring race for the Kentucky Derby (Grade 1), to be run May 7 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky.

The winner of the Holy Bull will receive ten Kentucky Derby points.  The second through fourth place finishers will receive four, two and one points respectively.

It is expected that Classic Empire will be among entries in the Holy Bull.  That colt won last year’s 1 1/16 mile Breeders’ Cup Juvenile (Grade 1) at Santa Anita Park on Nov. 5 and was later voted the winner of the Eclipse Award for two-year-old males.
