Gulfstream
Park will have a carryover of $79,451 on its Rainbow 6 when it resumes racing
on Thursday.
And we
emphasize Thursday.
Gulfstream
is dark this week on Wednesday—usually a live race day.
The
Thursday card has eleven races, with first post of 12:35 p.m.
The
Rainbow 6 is on the sixth through. It is 20-cents only and has a 20 percent takeout of each day’s wagering.
Thursday
will be the fourth day of the current Rainbow 6 carryover cycle.
Gulfstream pays out the Rainbow 6 jackpot (carryover
plus 80 percent of the day’s bet) only on days when there is just one ticket
with the winners of all six races.
On days
with multiple winning tickets Gulfstream takes out the 20 percent. It then
divides 56 percent among tickets with the most winners (usually six) and puts
24 percent into the carryover.
There was
a single Rainbow 6 winning ticket last Thursday. It paid $324,180.
The
Rainbow 6 is a 20-cent per combination-only bet. Multiple horses can be used in
each race, thus setting up a ticket with multiple 20 cent
combinations. For example, a ticket with two horses in each race has
64 combinations and costs $12.80.
