The ten-race Wednesday card is underway at Gulfstream Park, with conditions listed as fast and firm.
The fourth and feature race is the $60,000 Just One More Stakes, at one mile on dirt for 3-YO that have never won a stakes race. Scheduled post is 2:02 p.m.
The field is down to five following the scratch of Wait.
Third Day, trained by Todd Pletcher, and Basha, trained by Gilberto Zerpa, are the likely favorites.
Third Day is making his first start since last July 31 when he won his career debut at Monmouth Park in Oceanport, N.J. That victory was at 5 1/2 furlongs on a sloppy dirt track.
John Velazquez will ride Third Day, a son of Bernardini.
Basha has won two of his three career starts. In his most recent race, on Dec. 10 at Gulfstream, he finished second by seven lengths to Fact Finding in the Smooth Air at one mile on a sloppy dirt track. Fact Finding, trained by Pletcher, likely will run in Saturday's Sam F. Davis (Grade 3) for 3-YO at Tampa Bay Downs.
Emisael Jaramillo rode Basha in his first three races, and has the mount again today. Basha is a son of Uncle Mo.
Past performances indicate that Basha and Woodrow could battle for the early lead. Woodrow has the rail post, with Tyler Gaffalione riding for trainer Harry Benson.
Third Day has post two and Basha has the outside post in the short field.
