GP West Rainbow 6 Carryover at $62,085

GP West Rainbow 6 Carryover at $62,085

The Gulfstream Park West meet will have a Rainbow 6 carryover of $62,085 on Saturday.

First post will be 12:35 p.m. for a ten-race card at Calder in Miami Gardens. The Rainbow 6 is on races five through ten.

In the first race, there will be a carryover of $1,307.09 on the Super  Hi-5.  The $1 minimum bet  requires picking the first five finishers in correct order.  There were no winning tickets in Friday’s ninth and final race.

On Friday there were 47 tickets with the winners of all six Rainbow 6 races.  Each received $420.30 from the day’s new Rainbow 6 bets, and meet sponsor Gulfstream Park added the remainder to the carryover.

Gulfstream pays out the Rainbow 6 jackpot (full carryover plus  80 percent of the day’s new bet) only on days when there is just one ticket with all six winners.

Friday was the 12th straight day with multiple winners, and thus the carryover keeps growing.

The carryover coming in was $53,579.

Bettors added $35,477 to the Rainbow 6.  Of that Gulfstream took out 20 percent, divided 56 percent among tickets with the most winners (in this case six) and added 24 percent to the carryover.

Saturday will be the 33rd day of the 37-day GP West meet.  The Gulfstream Park championship meet will begin Dec. 3 at the Hallandale Beach track.

A Florida law prohibits pari-mutuels from carrying over an exotic  bet from one race meet  to anotjer

That means that Gulfstream will have to schedule a mandatory payoff day for  the Rainbow 6 on Sunday Nov. 27.

On such days, Gulfstream pays out the full jackpot/carryover and 80 percent of the new Rainbow 6 bets—even if it is divided among multiple winners.

The Rainbow 6 is a 20-cents only per combination bet, with multiple horses permitted in each race and thus multiple combinations.
