After three races, winning times are looking more like normal at the Gulfstream Park West meet being held at Calder.
That follows Thursday, when in a $16,000 claiming race the timer showed J B Quick winning in 1:08.72 - a time that would have been a new six-furlong track record track record at Calder.
However a timer misfunction was discovered and the replay was hand timed in 1:11.27, which became the official time.
Thus far, here is what has happened on the dirt track listed as fast:
First race - $10,000 maiden claiming, seven furlongs, won by Nacho Giant (1-1) with late rally, 1:26.20
Second race -- $6,250 claiming, one mile, won by Infiltrada (7-2) leading at every call, 1:41.11
Third race -- $6,250 claiming, seven furlongs, won by Venom Girl (5-1) who took the lead at the top of the stretch, 1:24.15.
