GP West is Off the Turf on Sunday

There will be no turf races at the Gulfstream Park West meet on Sunday.

Due to wet conditions, the five races scheduled for turf have been moved to the dirt track, listed as sloppy.

The GP West meet is at Calder Casino in Miami Gardens, and is being run by Gulfstream Park.

First post is 1:15 p.m. for Sunday’s ten-race card.  The first, third, fifth, seventh and ninth races had been scheduled for turf.

As of 10:10 a.m. it was not raining at Calder. But skies were threatening.

On Saturday, following morning rain, all five GP West scheduled-for-turf races were moved to the dirt track that was sloppy and sealed.

For Sunday afternoon, the Weather Channel  forecast is for scattered thunderstorms and a 40 percent chance of rain in the area in and around  Miami Gardens

We will have an update around noon on this Web site and coverage  of GP West on Sunday afternoon on our blog.
