GP West Fast and Firm for sunday

HorseRacingFLA Staff Report
Fans who like turf races will find six of them on Sunday at the Gulfstream Park West meet.

Those races will be part of a ten-race card with first post of 1:15 p.m. at the  meet being held at
Calder Casino in Miami Gardens.

The dirt track  is  listed as fast and the turf course is listed as firm.  The Weather Channel forecast is for zero chance of rain during racing hours.

The third and feature race is one mile on turf for 2-year-old fillies. It has a $34,000 purse and a $75,000 optional claiming price. None of the seven entrants are in for that tag.

We will have a preview as part of the afternoon coverage on our blog.

*On Sunday’s first race, there is a carryover of $1,854.39 on the Super Hi-5. It is a $1 minimum bet that requires picking the first five finishers of a race in correct order. There are no consolation payoffs.

The first race is one mile on turf for maiden claimers, three-years-old and up. The purse is $14,000 and the claiming  price  is $10,000.

*The carryover on the Rainbow 6  is $11,189.  It is on races five through ten.
