Spark Kit Wins Turf Allowance at Tampa

Spark Kit, the 2-1 favorite, beat 12-1 shot Chas the Man by a length in Sunday's fifth race at Tampa Bay Downs.
 
The 1 1/16 mile turf race was a $32,000 allowance/optional claimer for 3-year-olds and up, with a $24,000 purse. Spark Kit, ridden by Pablo Morales, won in 1:41.44 on the course listed  as firm.

Spark  Kit won for trainer/owner Gerald Aschinger.  He was claimed by trainer Jamie Ness for owner Robert Bone.

Dannhauser, trained by Kathleen O'Connell finished third in the eight-horse field.

O'Connell  has 1,799 career wins. Her next chances for 1,800 will come on Wednesday at Tampa Bay.  She will send out Teufles and Roses in the sixth  race and  Game Lad in the seventh race.
