Gulfstream Park-based trainer Jose Garoffalo plans to run his 3-year-old colt J R's Holiday in a pair of graded turf stakes in Kentucky during the next five weeks.
The $100,000 Transylvania (Grade 3) will be run this coming Friday at Keeneland in Lexington. The $300,000 American Turf (Grade 3) will be run May 7 at Churchill Downs in Louisville, Ky. Both are 1 1/16 miles.
At Gulfstream this year, J R's Holiday won the $100,000 Kitten's Joy at one mile and finished fourth in the $150,000 Palm Beach at 1 1/16 miles.
J R's Holiday, a son of Harlan's Holiday, is owned by J.R. Racing Stable.
Garoffalo also said he is looking for a next race for Wildcat Red, his stable's 5-year-old star.
Wildcat Red has not raced since Feb. 6 since he finished seventh in the one-mile Fred W. Hooper (Grade 3) at Gulfstream.
In 2014 at Gulfstream, Wildcat Red won the Fountain of Youth (Grade 2) and finished second in the Florida Derby (Grade 1). He is owned by Honors Racing Stable.
