Gulfstream Park will have the first stakes races of
its spring meet this afternoon, with the $100,000 Miami Mile (Grade 3) and the
$100,000 Powder Break.
They are part of a ten-race card that has first post
of 1:15 p.m.
Both stakes races are one mile on turf. The Miami
Mile, the seventh race, is for 3-year-olds and up. The Powder Break, the ninth
race, is for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.

*There was one winning ticket on Friday on the Rainbow
6 and the jackpot payout was $218,456.30.

A new Rainbow 6 pool will start today on races five
through ten. Gulfstream is not putting
in any seed money.
*There were no winning tickets on the Super Hi-5 on
Friday’s eighth and final race.
Thus, there will be a carryover of $2,571.14 on
today’s first race.
It is a $12,500 claimer at 1 1/16 miles on turf for
3-year-olds and up. The purse is $19,000.
The Super Hi-5 is a $1 minimum bet, with no
consolation payouts. If there are no
tickets with the first five horses in
correct order, the entire pool rolls over to the next race with seven or more starters.
*Tyler Gaffalione rode three winners on Friday. He is fourth in the spring meet standings
with 15 victories. The leaders are Emisael Jaramillo with 20, Edgard Zayas with
17 and Eddie Castro with 15.
Tampa Bay Downs
Tampa Bay Downs has a ten-race card today, with first
post of 12:35 p.m.
The feature fourth race is a $75,000
allowance/optional claimer at one mile on turf for 3-year-olds. It has a
$23,000 purse.
Bluegrass Tiger, trained by Kathleen O’Connell and to
be ridden by Antonio Gallardo, is among the ten entrants.
O’Connell comes into the day with 1,799 career wins.
Bluegrass Tiger is the first of her seven entrants today at Tampa Bay.
