Gulfstream Park will open its 2016 Spring Meet today with eight races and first post of 12:55 p.m.
The feature seventh race is a $25,000 optional claimer at 7 1/2 furlongs on turf for 3-year-olds and up. The purse is $43,000. There is a field of eight.
Five of today's races, including the last three, are scheduled for turf. There is a 20 percent chance of rain.
The Gulfstream spring meet will run until June 30.
