Broome horses win back-to-back GP features

Brandy's Girl, at 7-2, won Thursday's seventh race at Gulfstream Park to give conditioner Edwin Broome a feature race victory for the second day in a  row.

Brandy's Girl took an early lead and went on to beat 9-2 shot Spanish Concert by 2 1/2 lengths in the five furlong turf race.  It was a $62,500 allowance/optional claimer for fillies and mares 3-years-old and up.

Broome bred, owns and trains the six-year-old mare Brandy's Girl.

He also is breeder/owner/trainer of  Posse's Dream, a 4-year-old gelding, who won Wednesday's five-furlong turf feature for males.  It had the same optional claiming price and purse.

Edgar  Prado rode the Florida-bred Brandy's Girl who in 54:65 seconds on the course listed as firm. Jonathan Gonzales rode the New Jersey-bred Posse Dreamin who won in 54:79 over a firm course.

Spanish Concert, ridden by Eduardo Nunez, is trained by Kathleen O'Connell.  She has 1,799 career wins.  On Friday she has four entrants at Tampa Bay Downs and none at Gulfstream.

Double Secret finished third, followed by the 6-5 favorite Sunrise Kitty in the six-horse field.
