Tyler Gaffalione rode four winners
at Gulfstream Park on Saturday, following his four-win day on Friday.
And he is getting ready for a trip
to Saratoga Race Course, for a mount early this coming next week.
The victories on Saturday gave
Gaffalione a meet-leading 34 through the first 15 days of Gulfstream’s summer
meet.
Emisael Jaramillo and Luca Panici
are tied for second place with 15 wins each. Eddie Castro has 12 wins and is in
fourth place.
The 60-day summer meet extends
through Oct. 1.
Gaffalione’s Saturday winners ($2
win prices in parentheses) and their trainers were:

Saturday, with results that included one second place finish and one third

The 21-year-old Gaffalione has four
mounts on Gulfstream’s nine-race Sunday card.
Gulfstream will be dark from Monday
through Wednesday. Gaffalione will use that time for a
trip to Saratoga Springs. N.Y., for his first ride at Saratoga Race Course.
On either Monday or Wednesday, he
will ride Doctor J Dub for South Florida-based trainer Jena Antonucci.
She has cross-entered Doctor J Dub in
the $100,000 Lucky Coin Stakes at 5 ½ furlongs
on turf on Monday and in a turf allowance on Wednesday.
On July 2, Gaffalione rode Doctor J
Dub to a win in the five-furlong Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint at Gulfstream.
Gaffalione, a Davie, Fla., native,
led in wins at Gulfstream’s 2015 summer meet when he was still a five-pound
apprentice. He later was voted the winner of the Eclipse Award as North
America’s top apprentice jockey in 2015.
