Gaffalione Rides Four Winners at Gulfstream

Tyler Gaffalione rode four winners at Gulfstream Park on Friday, adding to his lead in the standings at the track’s summer meet.

Through 14 days, Gaffalione has 30 wins in 88 mounts.
Luca Panici and Emisael Jaramillo have 15 and 14 wins, respectively, and are second and third in the standings.

The 60-day summer meet extends through Oct. 1.
Gaffalione’s four wins were on a day when he had eight mounts.  The winners ($2 win prices in parentheses) and their trainers were:

*Third race: Stormy Embrace ($18.60), Kathleen O’Connell
*Fourth race: I Will Be Free ($5.20), David Braddy
*Seventh race: Horner Man ($6.80), Ralph Nicks
*Eighth race: Annie O’Schiller ($3.20), David Fawkes

Gaffalione has 13 wins in the last four Gulfstream racing days.
He has ten mounts on Saturday’s 12-race card and four mounts on Sunday’s nine-race card.

Gaffalione, a 21-year-old Davie, Fla., native, led in wins at Gulfstream’s 2015 summer meet when he was still a five-pound apprentice. He later was voted the winner of the Eclipse Award as North America’s top apprentice jockey in 2015.
