Frisky Magician finished third, another three-quarters of a length back, in the 5 1/2 furlong turf allowance for 3-year-olds and up. The purse was $78,000.
Asset Inflation won in 1:02.37 on the course listed as firm. Irad Ortiz Jr. rode him for trainer/owner David Jacobson.
Doctor J Dub, who was shipped in from Gulfstream Park by trainer Jena Antonucci, finished sixth in the nine-horse field.
Doctor J Dub was scheduled to be ridden byTyler Gaffalione, the leading jockey in wins at the current Gulfstream Park summer meet. But in a change announced early Wednesday afternoon, Florent Geroux was put on Doctor J Dub.
No immediate explanation was given. But from a distance, we expect it may have been travel-related.
Gulfstream was dark on Wednesday. He has a busy day scheduled there Thursday, with seven mounts on the ten-race card that has a 1:15 p.m. first post.
On July 2, Gaffalione rode Doctor J Dub to a win in the $75,000 Bob Umphrey Turf Sprint at five furlongs.
