Gulfstream Park has a 12-race card
on Saturday with first post at 12:45 p.m.
The feature 11th race is
an allowance, with a $44,000 purse, at 7 ½ furlongs on turf for three-year-olds
and up.
Another attraction is the tenth
race—a $55,000 maiden special weight at six furlongs on dirt for two-year-olds.
The dirt track is listed as fast and
the turf is listed as firm. Six races
(the odd-numbered ones) are scheduled for turf.
The Weather Channel forecast is for
a 20 percent chance of rain early in the afternoon and 40 percent chance of
thunderstorms late in the afternoon in Hallandale Beach where Gulfstream is
located.
Carryovers
Gulfstream has a Rainbow 6 carryover
of $157,221.30 on Saturday.
The Rainbow 6 is on races seven
through twelve. It is a 20-cent only per combination bet. Multiple horses can be used in each race,
thus creating multiple combinations.
In addition, Gulfstream has a carryover of $2,282.03 on the Super Hi-5 in the first race. That carryover is the result of there being no tickets with the first five finishers in correct order in Friday's tenth and final race. The Super Hi-5 is a $1 minimum bet.
Friday Results
Curlin’s Approval rolled to a
five-length win over Delta Girl in Friday’s ninth and feature race, a $43,000
allowance at 6 ½ furlongs on dirt for fillies and mares three-year-olds and up.
Emisael Jaramillo rode the three-year-old
Curlin’s Approval who won in 1:16.57 on the track listed as fast.
The win was the second in three
starts for Curlin’s Approval, a Kentucky-bred daughter of two-time Horse of the Year Curlin.
She won her debut at six furlongs at
Gulfstream on June 5. She finished fifth
in the Azalea Stakes at Gulfstream on July 2.
Marty Wolfson trains Curlin’s
Approval for breeder/owner Happy Alter.
