Gulfstream Park will resume racing on Thursday with ten races
and first post at 1:15 p.m.
The dirt track is listed as fast and the turf is
listed as firm. Five races are scheduled
for turf, with the rail at 96 feet.
The Weather Channel forecast is for just a 15 percent
chance of rain in Hallandale Beach, where Gulfstream is located.
There is a carryover of $197,499.98 on the Rainbow 6 and a carryover of $24,179 on the
Late Pick 5.
The Rainbow 6 is on races five
through ten and the Late Pick 5 is on races six through ten.
On Sunday, the most recent racing
day, there no tickets with the winners of all five Late Pick 5 races. That was
largely the result of 12-1 shot Run Alex run winning the eighth and
next-to-last race,
Sunday was the 14th
straight day without the carryover/jackpot payoff requirement of just one
ticket with the winners of all six
Rainbow 6 races.
The featured ninth race is six
furlongs on dirt for 3-year-olds and up.
It is a $16,000 optional claimer with
a $43,000 purse.
Niconellie and Scam are
likely favorites, and some bettors likely will make Niconellie a single in
their multi-race bets.
The 4-year-old gelding Niconellie
is coming off a two-race win streak, both at six furlongs in Gulfstream
claiming races. Luca Panici will ride
Niconellie for trainer Kathleen O’Connell.
