Gulfstream Park has an 11-race card on Saturday with
first post at 1:15 p.m., and weather conditions could have a big impact.
At 11:40 a.m. it was raining heavily at Gulfstream in
Hallandale Beach. But conditions were
still listed as good for the dirt track and firm for the turf.
Seven races are scheduled for turf, including the
$75,000 Gleaming at 1 ½ miles for 3-year-olds and up. It is the fourth race
with scheduled post of 2:49 p.m.
Xaverian, Morning Calm and Quiet Force are likely
favorites in the Gleaming if the race stays on turf.
The Gleaming has nine entrants, including Rich Daddy
who is main track only and the likely favorite if the race is moved to that
surface.
According to the Weather Channel, there is a 60
percent chance of rain until 1:00 p.m. and a 15 percent chance during the
remainder of the afternoon in Hallandale Beach.
We will have updates on this blog on any changes in
track conditions and reports on the Gleaming and other races.
There is a carryover of $113,209 on the Rainbow 6, on
races six through eleven. It is a 20-cent
per combination bet that requires picking the winners of each of the last six
races.
