Our Staff's Picks for Pegasus World Cup: Unanimous for City of Light-Accelerate

HorseRacingFLA's three staffers are in agreement in picking the outcome of Saturday's $9 million Pegasus World Cup Invitational (Grade 1) at Gulfstream Park.

City of Light followed byAccelerate.

Our consensus is that Breeders' Cup Mile champion City of Light will pass the  early speed horses coming around the final turn and have enough left  at 1 1.8 miles to fend off the stalking Accelerate and late runners   such  as Gunnevera and Audible.

Breeders' Cup Classic winner Accelerate is in from California and apparently has taken well to the Gulfstrean track.  It is hard to leave him out of the exacta mix.

Periods of rain are in the forecast for Saturday at Gulfstream in Hallandale Beach, Fla.  But our picks are based on expectations of a track listed as Fast.
