First post is 12:00 p.m. for an 11-race card that has no stakes races.
Based on Gulfstream wagering history, we expect that as much as $100,000 will be added to the Super Hi-5 on Sunday. It is a $1 minimum bet That requires picking the first five finishers in correct order--with no consolation payoffs such as four of five places.
The carryover on the Rainbow 6 will be $40,653. It will be on races six to eleven, with the sequence set to start at 2:37 p.m. The six races have a total of 66 entrants, including main track only and also eligibles.
On Saturday, there were just two tickets with the winning horses in all six Rainbow 6 races. Each of those tickets was paid $47,328.52 on the 20-cent per combination only bet.
The program numbers of the winning horses were 5-3-3-5-6-4.
A main reason there were only two winning tickets was the win by 12-1 shot Casa Creed (5) in the ninth race--the $100,000 Kitten's Joy Stakes at about 7 1/2 furlongs on turf for 3-year-olds.
There were 59 starters in the Rainbow 6 races.
On Friday, there was just one ticket with all six winning horses in the Rainbow 6. It took down the jackpot of $166,317--the entire coming-in carryover plus 80 percent of the day's new Rainbow 6 bets.
Thus, Gulfstream began a new Rainbow 6 pool on Saturday.
Bettors put in $169,066. Of that Gulfstream took out 20 percent, divided 56 percent between the two winning tickets and added 24 percent to the carryover.
