Dream Pauline Wins Hurricane Bertie at Gulfstream

Dream Pauline (2), at 5-2,found an opening along the rail and went on to win the Hurricane Bertie Stakes (Grade 3) at Gulfstream.

Pacific Gale (7), at 40-1, finished second followed by Stormy Embrace (8) in the seven furlong dirt stakes for fillies and mares 4-YO and up.


The $2 exacta paid $253.20.

Dream Pauline won in the fast time of 1:22.45 on the track that is sealed and listed as sloppy.  The day's five other races on dirt were won by horses that were leading or near the lead the entire race.

Javier Castellano rode Dream Pauline for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin and owner Stonestreet Stables.

The win was the fourth for Dream Pauline in five career starts.  On Dec. 15 she won the six furlong Sugar Swirl (Grade 3) on a sloppy track at Gulfstream.
