Today is the fourth day of the Tampa Bay Downs 10 Days of Festivus handicapping contest.
Heading into the day, we are in a four-way tie for third place, based on pari-mutuel payoffs of horses we picked. Each day, you must pick a horse in one of two designated races. The horse must finish at least third, or you are out. Starting tomorrow, a lifeline can be bought for $10 to get back in it.
Today, we are going in the ninth race and taking Rivzinthehouse, a 4-year-old gelding trained and part-owned by Larry Rivelli. We think he can win and otherwise survive a speed duel and at least hit the board in the 5-furlong turf race.
Details of the contest are on the Tampa Bay Downs Web site
