Gulfstream Turf: A Look So Far Today

The GP fifth was 7 1/2 furlongs on turf, a claiming race for 2-YOs,

Beautiful Sin  made a big move on  the turn and caught Born to Be Winner at the wire.  Of the  early leaders, only Born to Be Winner hit the super Hi 5.  All 12 runners  can  be considered year-round locals.

Today's second race at one mile  on turf, had 11 local horses among the 12 starters,  It was a $16,000 claimer with a relatively low $23,000 purse, for older males

Forall the Marbles, trained by David Kassen,, pulled off a wire job--winning by a  half length over late-running Exclusive Strike who is in from New Jersey for the winter with trainer Jason Servis.

The half went in 45.79 seconds  and the final  time of 1:34.56 was solid for this level.

In both race, Emisael Jaramillo  rode the winner and Paco Lopez rode the second place finisher.
