Indy Breeze, at 2-1, took the lead coming out of the turn and pulled away to win Wednesday's featured sixth race at Tampa Bay Downs.
Indy Breeze won the 6 1/2 furlong $32,000 optional claimer in 1:18.06 under jockey Antonio Gallardo. Wilhelmina (10-1) finished second by 2 1/2 lengths followed by the 7-5 favorite Thunder Bay n the field of seven fillies and mares, 3-years-old and up.
The 5-year-old Indy Breeze paid $6.60, $3.60 and $2.60. She is trained by Jamie Ness and owned by Midwest Thoroughbreds.
Indy Breeze was our pick in the Tampa Bay Downs 10 Days of Festivus handicapping contest. She kept us alive after three days. Going into today, we were tied for fourth place in the standings
