Gulfstream Rainbow 6 Pays $228.40; Princess Secret, Breeze on By win in FSS

The Rainbow 6, with a mandatory jackpot payoff paid $228.40 on a 20 cent-only bet at Gulfstream Park on Saturday.

HorseRacingFLA's review of today's betting showed there were 10,271 tickets with all six winners.

Program numbers of the winning horses were 6-1-5-5-6-6.

Time for Trouble, the 5-1winner of the 12th and final race, was the only horse in the sequence at higher than 3-1.

This evening, we will review our proprietary data base and report on "just how low" the $228.40 return is for days with mandatory payouts.

* Gulfstream will begin  a new Rainbow 6 pool on Sunday.

First  post will be 12:00 p.m. for an eleven-race card.

The Rainbow 6 will be on races six to eleven with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:34 p.m.

Gulfstream is guaranteeing that the pool will be at least $100,000 if there is just one ticket with all six winning horses.

If there are multiple winning tickets, Gulfstream will take out 20 percent of the day's Rainbow 6 bet. It will then divide 56 percent among tickets with the most winners (usually six) and put 24 percent into a new carryover.

* In Saturday's Florida Sire Stakes races, (FSS), Princess Secret won the Susan's Girl for fillies and Breeze on By won the Affirmed for males.  We will have details tonight and on Sunday morning.
