Gulfstream Park's ten-race Thursday card is underway with the dirt track listed as Fast and the turf listed as Firm.
The day began with just one winning ticket on the carried over Super Hi 5--and it paid $8,367 for the minimum $1 bet.
The order of finish was 8-9-2-3-5.
Isolate (8), the winner, was sent off at 3-1. The key to the wining ticket was fourth place finisher Cash Advance (3) at 52-1.
The carryover coming in was $5,110. Bettors increased the Super Hi-5 pool by $4,121--on which there was a 17 percent takeout.
The carryover on today's Rainbow 6 is $963,685. The 20 cents per combination-only bet is on races five to ten, with the sequence scheduled to start at 2:02 p.m.
Gulfstream has guaranteed that today's Rainbow 6 pool (carryover plus new bet) will be at least $1.35 million--if there is just one winning ticket that takes down the jackpot/carryover.
This Sunday, there will be a mandatory payout of the Rainbow 6 jackpot (entire carryover plus 80 percent of day's bet) --regardless of the number of tickets with all six winners.
If the jackpot is not hit on any of the next three days, the carryover on Sunday likely will be about $1.2 million to $1.3 million. In that case, the Sunday wagering on the Rainbow 6 probably will be more than $5 million.
