Our Mystical Man, at 4-1, rallied to beat 7-1 shot Jacala in the opener at Gulfstream.
Magnanimous Mike led until the far turn but faded to finish fourth in the one mile turf race for $16,000.
Luca Panici rode Our Mystical Man for trainer Ron Gaffney. The winning time was 1:37.37 on the course listed as firm.
On Thursday, Gulfstream had four turf races of 7 1/2 furlongs or longer.
One, the seventh race, was won gate to wire by Sweet Summer Sweat. The other three were won by horses that were in third place or farther back after a half mile.
We'll be back later in the day with reports on several races in the Rainbow 6, which spans races four through nine.
