The eighth and final race is coming up at Gulfstream Park with scheduled post of 4:58 p.m. We will be back before then to look at the Rainbow 6 situation.
That is happening on a Thursday when Gulfstream's remarkable recent record of being able to keep races on the turf came to a damp end.
Our review of Equibase charts shows that June 10, 52 race days ago, was the most recent day on which Gulfstream moved races from turf to dirt due to weather conditions.
Heavy rain that fell late in the morning forced Gulfstream to move the day's four scheduled-for-turf races to the dirt track that was and remains listed as sloppy.
That led to several scratches and an impact on anticipated handle that cannot be readily determined.
