The third, fourth, eighth and ninth races are for
juveniles.
The most attractive for fan interest and perhaps for
betting is the third race. It is 7 ½ furlongs on turf for fillies, and is a
$35,000 starter optional claiming race with a $30,000 purse.
All of the seven entrants have at least one win. Queen
Del Valle, trained and owned by Reid Nagle, and Shack Up, trained by Mark Casse
and owned by Aron Yagoda, are likely favorites.
We will have coverage during the afternoon on this
blog.
The main track is listed as fast and the turf is
listed as firm.
The Weather Channel forecast is for just a 15 percent
chance of rain during racing hours in Hallandale Beach, where Gulfstream is
located.
The carryover on the Rainbow 6 is $24,496, on races
four through nine.
