Tyler Gaffalione will be back at
Gulfstream Park on Sunday, after riding in five races at Arlington Park in the
Chicago area on Saturday. He had three in-the-money finishes in those races.
Gaffalione, the leading rider in
Gulfstream’s summer meet, is listed on mounts in ten of Sunday’s eleven races.
He does not have a ride in the
second race.
A major reason for Gaffalione’s
one-day trip was to ride Star Empire for trainer Wesley Ward in the $100,000
Arlington-Washington Futurity (Grade 3). Star Empire came in third in that
seven-furlong race for 2-year-olds.
Gaffalione’s day at Arlington
included another third place finish and a second place finish.
He has 73 wins in the Gulfstream
summer meet that ends Oct. 1. Emisael
Jaramillo is second with 41 victories, and Edgard Zayas has 40 for third place.
