Philoctetes, at Even Money - Wins Tampa's 9th

Philoctetes, bid down to even money from the 6:1 morning line, won by 1/2 length over Red Warrior. Squeegee made a go of it, in last place on the backstretch, to get the 3rd place. The race was off-the-turf from heavy rains earlier; the field of 5 were the survivors on the sloppy dirt track.
The winning time for the 1 mile, 40 yards was 1:42.91.

Philoctetes now has a three-peat of wins here at Tampa Bay, dating back to late January. The horse went gate to wire in the two prior wins.
