Morning Fire Scratched from Tampa Bay Derby

Morning Fire, a speedster who would have been in post one, was scratched this morning from the Tampa Bay Derby (Grade 2)

The decision was listed as by trainer.  Keith Nations trains Morning Fire, who finished third in the 1 1/16 mile Sam F. Davis (Grade 3) on Feb. 13 at Tampa Bay Downs.

The Tampa Bay Derby is now down to nine runners.  Among those Awesome Banner, Outwork and Riker have histories of early speed.

As of 11:09 a.m. there were no scratches from the Hillsborough (Grade 2) which has a ten-horse field headed by the Eclipse Award winning Tepin.  The Hillsborough is 1 1/8 miles on  turf for fillies and mares 4-YO and up.
