Trainer Milt Wolfson turned 83 on Oct. 22, and this afternoon he is hoping that Andreya's Reward will give him a belated birthday present--and a longshot one at that.
Andreya's Reward is one of 14 2-year-old fillies getting ready to run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies with post time of 4:53 p.m. She is the longest shot on the board at 72-1.
We aren't saying that Andreya's Reward will hit the board, let alone win. But that looks like an overlay based on a split horses move and long stride she showed in winning the one-mile Our Dear Peggy at Gulfstream on Oct. 3.
Wolfson and his assistant trainer Kathy Davey own Andreya's Reward through their N.T.S. Stable.
"Why not take a shot?," Wolfson said last Saturday at Calder.
Here's wishing you good racing luck, Milt and Kathy.
