Andreya's Reward Heads to Breeders' Cup Race

Andreya's Reward will board a  van at Gulfstream Park this morning for a two-day van ride to Keeneland in Lexington, Ky.

She is headed there for Friday's $1 million Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (Grade 1), at one mile.

The 2-year-old filly's trainer Milt Wolfson and his assistant Kathy Davey will fly to Kentucky on Monday.  Their N.T.S. Stable owns Andreya's Reward.

Andreya's Reward comes into the race with two wins in her three starts.

She won her debut at Gulfstream at one mile on turf on Aug. 15.  She finished fifth in a 12-horse field in the Kentucky Downs Juvenile Filly Turf Stakes on Sept. 5.  It was seven furlongs at Kentucky  Downs in Franklin, Ky.

In her latest start, Andreya's Reward won the $75,000 Our Dear Peggy Stakes at one nile on turf at Gulfstream on Oct. 3.

"She's a long-striding filly, and she keeps getting better," Davey said on Saturday at Calder,  where Gulfstream Park is holding the Gulfstream Park West meet.

"But we really don't know what to expect until we see the field," she said.

Twenty horses are pre-entered in the Juvenile Fillies Turf, but only 12 will be in the race,

The selection committee has guaranteed that Anfreya's Reward will have a spot. But this race is usually hard to predict because of its mix  of horses from several regions of the United States and from Europe.

The field and post positions will be announced on Tuesday afternoon from the trainers of Andreya's Reward.
